Collins’ backing⁤ is crucial as Gabbard’s nomination will⁤ be voted on by the Senate Intelligence Committee, which has a narrow Republican ⁤majority. Collins believes that ⁢Gabbard shares her vision for‌ reducing the size of ⁤the intelligence agency, which ⁢she feels has expanded beyond its⁣ intended scope.⁤ Despite⁣ some initial concerns regarding Gabbard’s past comments about Edward Snowden, Collins now ⁣feels satisfied ⁣with ⁤Gabbard’s clarifications following thier discussions. Additionally, support from Senator James Lankford (R-OK) further strengthens Gabbard’s position, although the vote may hinge on Senator Todd Young (R-IN), who has expressed dissatisfaction with⁣ Gabbard’s answers about Snowden. With a Republican majority in the⁤ Senate, Gabbard’s nomination can only afford‌ to lose a limited number of GOP votes to be confirmed.

Tulsi Gabbard scores support of key GOP senator ahead of Intel <a href="https://www.conservativenewsdaily.net/breaking-news/breaking-senate-judiciary-committee-confirms-amy-coney-barrett-for-supreme-court-democrats-boycott-committee-vote/" title="BREAKING: ...
