We have meetings planned, and we&rsquo;ll see what happens. But that was just an opening salvo. If we can&rsquo;t make a deal with China, then the tariffs will be very, very substantial,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Trump was additionally asked about <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/tesla\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Tesla<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/spacex\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">SpaceX<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/twitter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">X<\/a> CEO <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/elon-musk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Elon Musk<\/a>&lsquo;s conduct as head of the Department of Government Efficiency after the commission told most <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/usaid\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">USAID<\/a> employees to work from home on Monday as reforms are introduced across the agency.
