Her answer was different when the interview aired on Oct. 7.<\/p>\n<p>Carr explained that a complaint was filed under the &ldquo;News Distortion policy&rdquo; that prevents broadcasters from swapping answers, citing how CBS News&rsquo;s clip teasing the interview was &ldquo;very different&rdquo; from what was shown the following day.<\/p>\n<p>Carr expects to receive the full CBS News interview by &ldquo;the end of the day.&rdquo; When asked if this transcript would also be released to the public, the FCC chairman said he has not made a final decision but did cite how transparency is &ldquo;incredibly important.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I do think the American public ultimately deserve to see this for themselves,&rdquo; Carr said on Fox News&rsquo;s <em>America&rsquo;s Newsroom<\/em>. &ldquo;And what&rsquo;s interesting is CBS releases other transcripts. The FCC chairman explained that these two broadcasters receive taxpayer funding and are not allowed to air commercials because of this, citing &ldquo;potential evidence&rdquo; that the two have indeed been airing commercials.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/variety.com\/2025\/tv\/news\/fcc-investigation-pbs-npr-commercials-1236291556\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Both NPR and PBS have responded to a letter<\/a> from Carr suggesting that they have aired commercials, with the former stating it is &ldquo;confident&rdquo; any investigation will find that it is complying with FCC rules.
