He attributed failures in safety to his predecessors, claiming thay became distracted by diversity, equity,\u2063 and inclusion (DEI) policies, especially \u2064within the Federal aviation Administration (FAA).\u200d Duffy mentioned that under the Biden administration, \u200dentrance \u2064exam scores for air traffic\u200b control positions where lowered, suggesting a compromise in standards.He emphasized that the mission of \u200bensuring safety was lost when the focus shifted to \u200csocial justice issues, \u2062referencing a\u2064 tragic incident involving a crashed plane and helicopter \u2063near\u200d Reagan National Airport that resulted\u200c in multiple fatalities. The FAA manages the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/search-and-rescue-teams-at-site-of-indonesian-plane-crash\/\" title=\"Search and rescue teams at site of Indonesian plane crash\">air traffic controllers<\/a> in every airport across the country.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;So I do&nbsp;know that in the last&nbsp;administration, they were&nbsp;focused on not safety, but they&nbsp;were focused on changing the&nbsp;name from &lsquo;cockpit&rsquo; to &lsquo;flight deck.&rsquo;&nbsp;Or &lsquo;notice to airmen,&rsquo; they wanted&nbsp;to change it to &lsquo;notice to air&nbsp;mission.&rsquo; They focused on EVs and&nbsp;sustainability and racist roads,&nbsp;things that don&lsquo;t matter in&nbsp;regards to safety,&rdquo; Duffy said on CNN&rsquo;s <em>State of the Union<\/em>. &ldquo;Our mission&nbsp;since the start has been safety,&nbsp;and they&lsquo;ve lost that mission.&nbsp;And we see when you don&lsquo;t focus&nbsp;on safety and you focus on&nbsp;social justice or the&nbsp;environment, bad things happen.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 100%; max-width: 640px; max-height: 360px; min-width: 320px; min-height: 180px; overflow: hidden;\">\n<div style=\"position: relative; width: 100%; padding-top: 56.25%;\"><iframe src=\"https:\/\/share.grabien.com\/share.php?id=2784120&amp;userid=11311&amp;loginid=10455&amp;playercolor=%23000000&amp;playersize=auto&amp;code=b2f622a6911306f25b8e59cd9e5bd6fd\" style=\"position: absolute; top: 0px; left: 0px; width: 100%; height: 100%; border: 0px;\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Trump has not explained any evidence that DEI hiring practices caused the crash. Duffy indicated that during the Biden administration, entrance exam scores were lowered to get people into air traffic control.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>While every other federal agency has been in a hiring freeze and government employees are mulling over an early retirement incentive, the safety jobs in the FAA are exempted.
