Pritzker<\/a> (D-IL) is barring anyone who participated in the deadly <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/january-6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Jan. 6<\/a>, 2021, attack on the U.S. Capitol from working <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jpmorgan-wages-productivity-jumped-amid-trumps-low-migration\/\" title=\"JPMorgan: Wages, Productivity Jumped Amid Trump&#039;s Low Migration\">state jobs<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Illinois\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Illinois<\/a>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>While President Donald Trump has wiped those who participated in the riot&rsquo;s criminal convictions clean in sweeping pardons he signed on his first day in office, those people will be banned from state jobs in Illinois.&nbsp;Pritzker noted the crimes the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">rioters committed<\/a>, including &ldquo;violence against law enforcement officers, threats against Members of Congress, destruction of federal property,&rdquo; among other crimes as part of his reason for their ban.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;These rioters attacked law enforcement officers protecting people in the Capitol, disrupted the peaceful transfer of power, and undermined bedrock principles of American democracy,&rdquo; Pritzker <a href=\"https:\/\/www.documentcloud.org\/documents\/25510392-pritzker-j6\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">wrote<\/a> in a letter to Illinois Department of Central Management Services Director Raven DeVaughn.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;No one who attempts to overthrow a government should serve in government,&rdquo; he added.<\/p>\n<p>The Illinois state government employs roughly 53,000 people.<\/p>\n<p>Pritzker&rsquo;s order was the first pushback against those who received pardons for their actions that day. According to a <em>Chicago Sun-Times <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/chicago.suntimes.com\/crime\/2022\/4\/21\/22888565\/list-illinois-residents-charged-us-capitol-breach\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">report<\/a>, Trump&rsquo;s actions in absolving those taking part in Jan. 6 may have affected more than 50 Illinois residents, including those still facing prosecution.<\/p>\n<p>At the time of the pardon, 43 of the 53 Illinois residents had been convicted and sentenced. Trump additionally ordered the attorney general to dismiss all pending indictments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Trump pardoned people associated with the Proud Boys and Oath Keepers who were convicted of seditious conspiracy. Trump conferred &ldquo;a full, complete and unconditional pardon to all other individuals convicted of offenses related to events that occurred at or near the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>More than 1,500 people were arrested in connection with the attack, most of whom received pardons.
