<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">abortion-related travel expenses<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/media.defense.gov\/2025\/Jan\/29\/2003634768\/-1\/-1\/0\/UTD_FOR_MAP_04-25(S)_REMOVE-TRAVEL-FOR-NON-COVERED-REPRODUCTIVE-HEALTH-CARE-SERVICES.PDF\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">memo<\/a> issued Wednesday, Defense Travel Management Office Deputy Director Sarah Moore notified the Pentagon&rsquo;s Military Advisory Panel that the Biden administration&rsquo;s policy of effectively using public funds to reimburse service members who traveled to states with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/analysis-how-legacy-media-misrepresents-catholicism-to-defend-biden\/\" title=\"ANALYSIS: How Legacy Media Misrepresents Catholicism To Defend Biden\">pro-abortion laws<\/a> to terminate their pregnancy is no longer in effect. The directive &mdash; which took effect Tuesday &mdash; was issued in compliance with President Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/enforcing-the-hyde-amendment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive order<\/a> reaffirming the Hyde Amendment and &ldquo;similar laws that prevent Federal funding of elective abortion.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-920362456\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>The 2023 policy became a major flashpoint in Congress and the military bureaucracy. To protest the Biden administration&rsquo;s directive, Sen. Tommy Tuberville, R-Ala., initiated a months-long hold on President Biden&rsquo;s Pentagon promotions, using his position on the Senate Armed Services Committee to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/09\/06\/theres-an-easy-solution-if-the-pentagon-is-really-worried-about-national-security-stop-subsidizing-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">force<\/a> the body to vote on each nomination one at a time rather than &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/us-military-at-risk-senate-army-confirmations-blocked-tuberville-12cd1bd126cc89a5e30a288d22476394\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">en masse<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Alabama&rsquo;s senior senator endured dishonest attacks from <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/09\/20\/schumers-cave-on-military-nominations-shows-his-attacks-on-tuberville-were-always-political\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Democrats<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/09\/06\/theres-an-easy-solution-if-the-pentagon-is-really-worried-about-national-security-stop-subsidizing-abortion\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Biden military appointees<\/a>, who baselessly claimed his holds jeopardized military readiness and national security. Notably, many of these same actors were <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/01\/09\/politicos-who-attacked-tubervilles-abortion-protest-over-military-readiness-are-mia-on-defense-secs-secret-leave\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">silent<\/a> when it was revealed that then-Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin went MIA last year and declined to notify the American people and relevant authorities, including Biden, the White House, and Congress.<\/p>\n<p><strong>[Report:[Report:<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/16\/report-defense-secretary-lloyd-austin-went-mia-twice-last-year-and-didnt-tell-congress\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin Went MIA Twice Last Year And Didn&rsquo;t Tell Congress<\/a>]<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Tuberville was all but forced to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/12\/05\/dont-blame-tuberville-for-dropping-his-pentagon-abortion-protest-blame-his-feckless-gop-colleagues\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">end<\/a> his protest in December 2023, when several of his GOP colleagues threatened to side with Senate Democrats in changing Senate rules to skirt the holds. Among the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/11\/01\/gop-senators-betray-tuberville-over-protest-of-pentagons-abortion-extremism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most notable<\/a> Republican sellouts were Sens. Dan Sullivan of Alaska, Joni Ernst of Iowa, Todd Young of Indiana, and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina. <\/p>\n<p>In a Friday statement, Tuberville described the Biden-era policy as &ldquo;illegal and immoral.&rdquo; He noted that he &ldquo;took a lot of heat when [he] stood alone for nearly a year in holding senior Pentagon promotions,&rdquo; but added that, &ldquo;as of today, it was all worth it.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Biden administration treated taxpayers like their own personal Piggy bank that they could use to bankroll their woke agenda.
