In the 24 hours after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3303024\/karoline-leavitt-shakes-up-press-briefing-room-podium-debut\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Donald Trump\">announcement<\/a>, the administration received 7,400 requests for credentials from new media, a White House official confirmed to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt opened her first briefing before the press by announcing the policy change and letting two reporters from &ldquo;new media&rdquo; ask the first questions during the news conference.
