She attended a press conference with skating Club of Boston executives and\u200d legendary figure skater Tenley\u200c Albright,who emotionally reflected \u200con the\u2063 sense of \u2064community and shared \u200dmemories among the skaters. Tonya Harding, Kerrigan\u2019s rival during\u2064 the 1990s, also shared her condolences on \u2063social media, acknowledging the devastating loss and\u200c confirming that several professional skaters were \u2064aboard the flight. <\/p>\n<p>The\u2063 skaters were returning from the U.S. Championships and a national progress camp in Wichita, Kansas. Of those passengers, 14 were in the figure skating community, and another six were from the same skating club that Kerrigan joined in 1992. They included teenage skaters Jinna Han and Spencer Lane, their mothers, and two coaches, Evgenia Shishkova and Vadim Naumov.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The kids here really work hard. Their parents work hard to be here. We&rsquo;re family, and it&rsquo;s a community,&rdquo; Albright said in tears. &ldquo;There are so many memories. Just having seen the skaters competing.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Kerrigan is arguably best known for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=voUMQrLy_uY\" title=\"\">attack on her knee<\/a> at the 1994 U.S. Figure Skating Championship in Detroit. Tonya Harding, who was her main rival at the time and whose then-boyfriend and friends were held responsible for that attack, expressed her condolences over the plane crash on X.<\/p>\n<p>  &ldquo;The events that took place last night in Washington, DC are absolutely devastating.<\/p>\n<p>I&rsquo;m being told that several professional figure skaters were aboard the flight as well.
