<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox61.com\/article\/news\/local\/litchfield-county\/torrington\/ct-state-employee-charges-voter-registration-fraud-in-torrington\/520-5ed8e234-4ec7-4dcd-9c8f-4e07cd7de953?fbclid=IwY2xjawIIin9leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHV7ctOKsDIs9WTqsA9uIGNcMLqIPLME06_vYRE8ns1G17xPPGPZCch1bkw_aem_ZibkVPk6IQy7xc-WM2sRlQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">according<\/a> to Fox61. As the Hartford Courant reported, police <a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20250129011319\/https:\/\/www.courant.com\/2025\/01\/28\/ct-state-employee-accused-of-changing-party-affiliation-on-voter-registration-cards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">arrested<\/a> her Monday.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-1376199679\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>After a &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox61.com\/article\/news\/local\/litchfield-county\/torrington\/ct-state-employee-charges-voter-registration-fraud-in-torrington\/520-5ed8e234-4ec7-4dcd-9c8f-4e07cd7de953?fbclid=IwY2xjawIIin9leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHV7ctOKsDIs9WTqsA9uIGNcMLqIPLME06_vYRE8ns1G17xPPGPZCch1bkw_aem_ZibkVPk6IQy7xc-WM2sRlQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">national voting event<\/a>&rdquo; at the Western Connecticut Mental Health Network in Torrington, Connecticut on Sept. 17, Brantley allegedly changed &ldquo;several&rdquo; voter registration cards with an affiliation of &ldquo;Republican&rdquo; or &ldquo;No&rdquo; to &ldquo;Democrat&rdquo; &ldquo;without the consent of the registrants.&rdquo; Police said she then submitted the cards to the Torrington Registrar of Voters clerk, according to Fox61.<\/p>\n<p>Officials noticed white out on the voter registrations, Torrington Registrar of Voters Clerk Melissa Russell told The Federalist. A &ldquo;handful&rdquo; of registrations &mdash; close to 10 &mdash; were affected, according to Russell. She said she does not know if Brantley altered registration cards in other jurisdictions, but the affected Torrington voters fixed their party affiliation before November&rsquo;s election.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Torrington Police Department and State Elections Enforcement Commission <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox61.com\/article\/news\/local\/litchfield-county\/torrington\/ct-state-employee-charges-voter-registration-fraud-in-torrington\/520-5ed8e234-4ec7-4dcd-9c8f-4e07cd7de953?fbclid=IwY2xjawIIin9leHRuA2FlbQIxMAABHV7ctOKsDIs9WTqsA9uIGNcMLqIPLME06_vYRE8ns1G17xPPGPZCch1bkw_aem_ZibkVPk6IQy7xc-WM2sRlQ\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">led<\/a> the investigation, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcconnecticut.com\/news\/local\/dmhas-employee-accused-of-altering-voter-registration-cards\/3485000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Police got a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.courant.com\/2025\/01\/28\/ct-state-employee-accused-of-changing-party-affiliation-on-voter-registration-cards\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">warrant<\/a> for Brantley&rsquo;s arrest and she turned herself in on Monday, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcconnecticut.com\/news\/local\/dmhas-employee-accused-of-altering-voter-registration-cards\/3485000\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a> say. As of Tuesday, she was out on a $10,000 bond and scheduled to appear in Torrington Superior Court on Feb. 10.<\/p>\n<p>Republican state Rep. Joe Canino said he was &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/repcanino\/posts\/pfbid0YdMqbx82r2zVn7eYJJFAwnVPxfvtPWAJQXRpQ2QREhenMyLrvZnuwVRxhf8ovBGTl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">outraged<\/a>&rdquo; to hear about the fraud, adding that he and his team are &ldquo;committed to fixing gaps in our election laws that allow these incidents to take place&rdquo; through &ldquo;increased enforcement of election related crimes, voter identification requirements, chain of custody requirements, and other proposals related to election security.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;What was meant to be a non-partisan, state-led, voter registration event, has now been tainted by Ms. Brantley&rsquo;s illegal actions,&rdquo; Canino <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/repcanino\/posts\/pfbid0YdMqbx82r2zVn7eYJJFAwnVPxfvtPWAJQXRpQ2QREhenMyLrvZnuwVRxhf8ovBGTl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted<\/a> to Facebook on Tuesday. &ldquo;Whether it&rsquo;s this incident in Torrington, or down in Bridgeport where individuals were stuffing ballots into a drop box during the eleventh hour before an election, the bottom line is that voter fraud is happening in Connecticut.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Republican State Rep. Craig Fishbein <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/CraigFishbein\/status\/1884994197905629398\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">posted<\/a> on X that he agrees with Canino, adding, &ldquo;Voter fraud, and the intentional fabricating of voter registration information has NO PLACE in the State of Connecticut!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Connecticut has a particularly concerning history of voter fraud. In Bridgeport, the state&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.connecticut-demographics.com\/cities_by_population\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most populous<\/a> city, a video surfaced in September 2023 apparently showing municipal employee Wanda Geter-Pataky &mdash; affiliated with the incumbent mayor&rsquo;s campaign &mdash; <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/11\/02\/judge-overturns-bridgeport-mayoral-election-due-to-evidence-of-mail-ballot-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stuffing<\/a> ballot boxes, as The Federalist&rsquo;s Mark Hemingway reported at the time. Following this evidence, a judge <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/11\/02\/judge-overturns-bridgeport-mayoral-election-due-to-evidence-of-mail-ballot-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">overturned<\/a> the results and ordered a new election. Geter-Pataky and Democrat city councilman Alfredo Castillo also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/dem-leaders-allegedly-helped-noncitizen-vote-as-fallout-from-shady-mayoral-primary-in-connecticut-continues\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">allegedly<\/a> helped a &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theblaze.com\/news\/state-mental-health-employee-accused-of-changing-voter-registrations-to-democrat\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Spanish-speaking<\/a>&rdquo; noncitizen vote the same year, according to a <a href=\"https:\/\/ctmirror.org\/2024\/10\/18\/bridgeport-ct-ineligible-voter-2023-primary\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">complaint<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Brantley&rsquo;s alleged fraud following September&rsquo;s &ldquo;national voting event&rdquo; in Torrington recalls how &ldquo;get-out-the-vote&rdquo; efforts are vulnerable to bad actors. In the past, such campaigns have helped activists engage in things like <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/07\/08\/meet-the-shadowy-left-wing-nonprofit-harvesting-voter-data-to-juice-democrat-turnout\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">data harvesting<\/a> and partisan <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/05\/wisconsin-complaint-exposes-leftist-led-vote-drives-on-college-campuses\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">targeting<\/a> of voters, as The Federalist has previously reported.
