Dozens are feared dead from the accident.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Trump posted his thoughts on the collision between <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/americanair\/status\/1884798791854747869?s=46&amp;t=DZfHmZ9RYj2IBXl0_dptLw\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">American Airlines<\/a> Flight 5342 from Wichita, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kansas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Kansas<\/a>, and the Black Hawk Sikorsky H-60 helicopter on his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/truth-social\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Truth Social<\/a> account.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The airplane was on a perfect and routine line of approach to the airport,&rdquo; Trump said in his <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/113915617049801010\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">post<\/a>. &ldquo;The helicopter was going straight at the airplane for an extended period of time.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The crash happened at approximately 9 p.m. Eastern, the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> previously <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3305147\/potomac-plane-crash-rescue-operation-underway-near-reagan-airport-apparent-helicopter-collision\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reported<\/a>. The accident is under investigation, and no cause has been provided yet. At the moment, the FBI has said there aren&rsquo;t any indications of terrorism or suspicions of foul play.<\/p>\n<p>The president asked several questions about the accident in his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/why-this-average-american-is-voting-for-donald-trump\/\" title=\"Why This Average American Is Voting for Donald Trump\">social media posts<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is a CLEAR NIGHT, the lights on the plane were blazing, why didn&rsquo;t the helicopter go up or down, or turn,&rdquo; Trump said. Why didn&rsquo;t the control tower tell the helicopter what to do instead of asking if they saw the plane.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Trump then speculated that the collision could have been avoided.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This is a bad situation that looks like it should have been prevented. NOT GOOD!!!&rdquo; Trump concluded in his post.<\/p>\n<p>First responders and emergency crews have been deployed to conduct search and rescue operations.
