Both groups regularly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/orgs\/national-education-assn\/summary?id=d000000064\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">bankroll<\/a> Democrats and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/orgs\/american-federation-of-teachers\/summary?id=d000000083\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">leftist<\/a> causes, and both are <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/university-of-texas-students-behind-censorship-project-targeting-conservative-news-outlets\/\" title=\"UT Students Censor Conservative News Outlets\">publicly funded organizations<\/a>, with union dues coming from taxpayer-funded teachers&rsquo; salaries. Now they have published guidance urging staff to help illegal aliens evade mass deportations, even though deportations are supported by a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2025\/01\/18\/us\/politics\/trump-policies-immigration-tariffs-economy.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">majority<\/a> of Americans.<\/p>\n<p>The presidents of both unions recently published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nea.org\/about-nea\/media-center\/press-releases\/nea-president-becky-pringle-responds-trumps-harmful-immigration-actions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">statements<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aft.org\/press-release\/afts-weingarten-president-trumps-deportation-plans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">opposing<\/a> President Donald Trump&rsquo;s executive <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/fact-sheets\/2025\/01\/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-protects-the-states-and-the-american-people-by-closing-the-border-to-illegals-via-proclamation\/\">or<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/fact-sheets\/2025\/01\/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-protects-the-states-and-the-american-people-by-closing-the-border-to-illegals-via-proclamation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">d<\/a><a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/fact-sheets\/2025\/01\/fact-sheet-president-donald-j-trump-protects-the-states-and-the-american-people-by-closing-the-border-to-illegals-via-proclamation\/\">er<\/a> enabling broader immigration enforcement. Meanwhile, public officials &mdash; including Illinois Democrat Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Public Schools CEO Pedro Martinez &mdash; have been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/us\/chicago-officials-walk-back-claim-repeated-gov-ice-raided-school-reveal-really-happened\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">sharing<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/6367841002112\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">false reports<\/a> about ICE raids at <a href=\"https:\/\/thepostmillennial.com\/border-czar-tom-homan-demands-apology-from-illinois-governor-for-spreading-grade-school-ice-raid-hoax?utm_campaign=64483\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">schools<\/a>, in an apparent effort to stoke mass hysteria.<\/p>\n<h2>&lsquo;Safe Zones&rsquo; from the Law<\/h2>\n<p>The day after Trump&rsquo;s inauguration, NEA President Becky Pringle suggested she would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nea.org\/about-nea\/media-center\/press-releases\/nea-president-becky-pringle-responds-trumps-harmful-immigration-actions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">obstruct<\/a> immigration enforcement.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The incoming Trump administration is committed to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/supreme-court-weighs-case-that-could-aid-trumps-mass-deportation-agenda-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Supreme Court weighs case that could aid Trump\u2019s mass deportation agenda - Washington Examiner\">mass deportation agenda<\/a> that will inflict irreversible harm,&rdquo; Pringle claimed. &ldquo;We have a professional and moral responsibility to keep our students safe, especially if, and when, Trump sends ICE into our communities.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In line with Pringle&rsquo;s comments, the NEA issued &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nea.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2025-01\/nea-immigration-guidance-booklet-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Guidance on Immigration Issues<\/a>&rdquo; this month,  &ldquo;strongly encourag[ing] schools and school districts to adopt a Safe Zones policy that outlines what educators and staff should do if ICE attempts to engage in immigration enforcement at schools.&rdquo; The guidance further states, &ldquo;If your school district has not yet adopted such a policy, we encourage you to take proactive action.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The NEA also said educators should have families <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nea.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2025-01\/nea-immigration-guidance-booklet-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">download<\/a> the app &ldquo;Notifica&rdquo; &mdash; by open-border group <a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/united-we-dream\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">United We Dream<\/a> &mdash; which offers a help button so illegals can &ldquo;Notify [Their] <a href=\"https:\/\/notifica.us\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Deportation Defense<\/a> Network.&rdquo; The NEA advised staff to &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nea.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2025-01\/nea-immigration-guidance-booklet-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Distribute<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ilrc.org\/red-cards-tarjetas-rojas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Red Cards<\/a>,&rdquo; which give illegals instructions on how to evade arrest and the consequences of breaking the law.<\/p>\n<p>In the event of a raid, the NEA <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nea.org\/sites\/default\/files\/2025-01\/nea-immigration-guidance-booklet-2025.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">said<\/a>, educators should &ldquo;not block or interfere with ICE activities or the agents. However, you do not have to give the agents access to non-public areas if they did not present a valid search warrant.&rdquo; It said staff should &ldquo;not give any statements to ICE agents or allow themselves to be interrogated before consulting with an attorney.&rdquo; The union told illegals to &ldquo;have an emergency plan&rdquo; and not to open their doors if ICE shows up.<\/p>\n<p>The union published a draft &ldquo;safe zone&rdquo; resolution, stipulating the district create a &ldquo;Rapid Response Team&rdquo; in case students face &ldquo;detention by ICE&rdquo; and ban ICE from campus pending approval by the superintendent. The resolution states that &ldquo;should ICE or other immigration law enforcement agents request any student information,&rdquo; staff are to refer them to the superintendent.<\/p>\n<p>This resolution accompanies a draft policy banning any &ldquo;third party access to the school&rdquo; that would cause a &ldquo;disruption to the learning environment&rdquo; in the view of the &ldquo;site administrator.&rdquo; The policy dictates that &ldquo;if approached by immigration law enforcement agents,&rdquo; staff must immediately inform the superintendent and &ldquo;parents or guardians of any students involved.&rdquo; If ICE asks to enter campus or obtain student information, staff must request an ID and warrant and contact the district&rsquo;s lawyers.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Numerous school districts across America have <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/maps\/d\/viewer?mid=1s2AqcXgeDsRjtmOX1iYApHc-JdI&amp;hl=en&amp;femb=1&amp;ll=34.77721778546226%2C-91.05619058872007&amp;z=6\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">adopted<\/a> &ldquo;safe zone&rdquo; policies, many starting back in 2016. They include the usual suspects like Chicago, Los Angeles, Portland, and Seattle. But districts including Miami and Nashville &mdash; in deep red states &mdash; also pledged to defy law enforcement.<\/p>\n<figure><figcaption>\n<div>\n<p>Numerous districts across America have become &ldquo;safe zones.&rdquo; Screenshot | NEA<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>         <span>Image Credit<\/span>Screenshot       <\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>&lsquo;Deportation Defense&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>In her statement opposing Trump&rsquo;s executive order, AFT President Randi Weingarten <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aft.org\/press-release\/afts-weingarten-president-trumps-deportation-plans\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">smeared<\/a> Trump&rsquo;s immigration order as &ldquo;cruelty&rdquo; and &ldquo;un-American.&rdquo; She said the public union would resist federal law enforcement and &ldquo;fight to protect our students.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The AFT offers a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aft.org\/our-community\/immigration\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">&ldquo;Deportation Defense Toolkit<\/a>&rdquo; that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aft.org\/sites\/default\/files\/media\/documents\/2025\/protecting_our_students_tookit_updated_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">instructs<\/a> illegal aliens how to prepare for a raid by ICE.<\/p>\n<p>The union <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aft.org\/sites\/default\/files\/media\/documents\/2025\/protecting_our_students_tookit_updated_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">tells<\/a> illegals to prepare for immigration enforcement by finding &ldquo;a local nonprofit organization that can help you,&rdquo; getting in touch with an attorney, saving money, and &ldquo;creat[ing] a family immigration raid emergency plan.&rdquo; The AFT also offers a &ldquo;Know Your Rights&rdquo; card &mdash; similar to the &ldquo;red cards&rdquo; advertised by the NEA.<\/p>\n<p>The AFT also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aft.org\/sites\/default\/files\/media\/documents\/2025\/protecting_our_students_tookit_updated_0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">directs<\/a> school staff to &ldquo;work with parents to develop a family immigration raid emergency plan&rdquo; and turn schools into &ldquo;ICE-free safe zone[s].&rdquo; Like the NEA, the AFT&rsquo;s guide also references the leftist immigration group &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.influencewatch.org\/non-profit\/united-we-dream\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">United We Dream<\/a>.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<figure>\n<figure><figcaption>\n<div>\n<p>AFT guidance to illegals on what to do if ICE shows up at the door.
