The buyout option will be sent to employees in the form of a governmentwide email, which will present a draft resignation letter that the employee can respond to with the word &ldquo;resign.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;If you choose to remain in your current position, we thank you for your renewed focus on serving the American people to the best of your abilities and look forward to working together as part of an improved federal workforce,&rdquo; reads the email that will be sent to federal workers. &ldquo;At this time, we cannot give you full assurance regarding the certainty of your position or agency but should your position be eliminated you will be treated with dignity and will be afforded the protections in place for such positions.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The move is especially targeted to the remote and hybrid workforce, of which the administration wants to reduce the number, as well as utilize more in-person government workers.
