margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-456410456\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>When properly enforced, the memo ensures <a href=\"https:\/\/freebeacon.com\/politics\/planned-parenthood-received-millions-of-dollars-after-lobbying-state-department-parterning-with-clinton-foundation\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">millions<\/a> of Americans&rsquo; hard-earned dollars will not be funneled, in the form of U.S. foreign aid, to organizations that lobby for, perform, or encourage abortions.<\/p>\n<p>Trump initially adopted the global gag rule during his first administration, but former President Joe Biden reversed it mere days into his White House tenure.<\/p>\n<p>In the wake of the Supreme Court&rsquo;s 2022 <em>Dobbs v. Jackson<\/em> decision, Biden also took aim at the Hyde Amendment throughout his administration including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.federalregister.gov\/documents\/2022\/07\/13\/2022-15138\/protecting-access-to-reproductive-healthcare-services\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ordering<\/a> his secretary of health and human services to &ldquo;protect and expand access to abortion&rdquo; including the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/10\/04\/scientists-sue-over-discriminatory-retraction-of-studies-exposing-abortion-pill-dangers\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">dangerous and sometimes fatal<\/a> drug regimen responsible for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.guttmacher.org\/article\/2022\/02\/medication-abortion-now-accounts-more-half-all-us-abortions\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">most of the nation&rsquo;s abortions.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>On the same day Trump published his intent to restore the Mexico City Policy, however, the Republican also issued an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.whitehouse.gov\/presidential-actions\/2025\/01\/enforcing-the-hyde-amendment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">executive order<\/a> affirming the Hyde Amendment and signaling an &ldquo;end the forced use of Federal taxpayer dollars to fund or promote elective abortion.&rdquo; The <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">executive order directly rebuked<\/a> the Biden administration for doing away with &ldquo;this established, commonsense policy by embedding forced taxpayer funding of elective abortions in a wide variety of Federal programs.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>A majority of Americans, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kofc.org\/en\/resources\/communications\/polls\/2025-kofc-marist-poll-results.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">57 percent<\/a>, oppose or strongly oppose using tax dollars to pay for abortions on U.S. soil, according to a recent Marist Poll. That number jumps to 73 percent when the tax dollars are designated for abortions abroad and is six percentage points higher than the opposition measured in January 2024.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s week-one directives not only bring the country into further alignment with the public&rsquo;s disapproval of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/joe-biden-signs-memorandum-backpedaling-on-president-trumps-abortion-policies\/\" title=\"Joe Biden signs memorandum backpedaling on President Trump\u2019s abortion policies\">taxpayer-funded abortion<\/a>, but signal the Republican administration&rsquo;s openness to other protections for women, babies, and Americans&rsquo; pocketbooks.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Government-compelled participation in abortion has no place in our country.
