The resolution, \u200csupported by all Democrats and independents\u2064 in the Senate, expresses\u200c disapproval of pardons granted \u2064to those convicted of violent conduct during \u200dthe uprising. John Fetterman (D-PA) was the final Democrat to join. His office confirmed to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> that the Pennsylvania senator added his name after Murray announced the resolution publicly on Monday morning, according to multiple<em> <\/em><a href=\"https:\/\/www.huffpost.com\/entry\/democrats-resolution-trump-rioter-pardons-john-fetterman_n_67979a24e4b0e33f6ee66c72\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">reports<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The resolution would issue the Senate&rsquo;s disapproval of &ldquo;any pardons for individuals who were found guilty of assaulting Capitol Police officers.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Patty Murray (D-WA), who announced the legislation, said in a statement that she refuses to &ldquo;allow President Trump to rewrite what happened on January 6th&mdash;armed insurrectionists, incited by Trump himself, broke into the U.S. Capitol and violently assaulted Capitol Police officers in their attempt to overthrow a free and fair election.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Murray continued, &ldquo;Affirming that U.S. Senators condemn unconditional pardons for people who were found guilty of violently assaulting Capitol Police officers should be the easiest thing in the world. If Republicans care even the tiniest bit about law enforcement, they should be outraged by these pardons.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Democrats will seek to pass the resolution by unanimous consent to adopt it. A single senator can block the legislation and no Republicans signed on to the resolution, although a number have voiced criticism of Trump&rsquo;s action.<\/p>\n<p>Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) said Trump made a mistake in pardoning the violent Jan. 6 offenders, even though he acknowledged that the president has the authority to make the move.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He had the legal authority to do it but I fear that you will get more violence,&rdquo; Graham said Sunday on NBC&rsquo;s <em>Meet the Press<\/em>. &ldquo;Pardoning the people who went into the Capitol and beat up a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/graham-claims-it-was-a-mistake-to-pardon-jan-6-defendants-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Graham claims it was &#039;a mistake&#039; to pardon Jan. 6 defendants - Washington Examiner\">police officer violently<\/a>, I think, was a mistake because it seems to suggest that&rsquo;s an OK thing to do.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>On Trump&rsquo;s first day in office, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/justice\/3293179\/trump-announces-mass-clemency-pardons-january-6-defendants\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">he pardoned<\/a> approximately 1,500 defendants charged in connection to the Jan. 6, 2021, attack and commuted the sentences of six others. His pardons included rioters who were charged with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/portland-mayor-ted-wheeler-finally-condemns-anarchist-violence\/\" title=\"Portland Mayor Ted Wheeler Finally Condemns \u2018Anarchist\u2019 Violence\">assaulting police<\/a> or <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/freedom-convoy-leader-accuses-police-of-blocking-ottawa-protesters-from-leaving\/\" title=\"Freedom Convoy Leader Accuses Police of Blocking Ottawa Protesters from Leaving\">obstructing police<\/a> during a riot.<\/p>\n<p>The president&rsquo;s blanket pardons come after former President Joe Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3293098\/biden-pardons-family-members-last-minute\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">preemptively pardoned <\/a>members of his own family, members of the Jan. 6 committee who investigated the attack, Dr. Anthony Fauci, retired Gen. Mark Milley, and others.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Democratic senators have been critical of the former president&rsquo;s decision. Sen.
