DeSantis has not backed down from his call for a special session, despite the pushback, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/immigration\/3299627\/desantis-warns-hazardous-fallout-lawmakers-bail-special-session\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"warning\">warning<\/a> it would be &ldquo;very, very hazardous politically&rdquo; for lawmakers to defy his order for action on the matters.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not just going to wait six months for something to eventually stick,&rdquo; DeSantis said on Thursday. &ldquo;We&rsquo;ve been waiting four years to be able to have a partner in Washington, D.C., on this issue. We have a sense of urgency. We&rsquo;ve got to get the job done. No more dragging your feet.&rdquo;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Perez and Albritton initially called it &ldquo;completely irresponsible to get out ahead of&rdquo; Trump&rsquo;s action on deportations and remarked that DeSantis had not released &ldquo;any actual bill language or even meaningful details for legislators and our constituents to consider,&rdquo; shortly after the session was announced on Jan. 13. As Trump has taken office and begun deportations, the two leaders have been largely quiet on their intentions with the special session.<\/p>\n<p>DeSantis outlined his preferred legislation for lawmakers to take up during the session, including actions to rescind in<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-underwater-by-double-digits-in-wisconsin-and-pennsylvania-ahead-of-campaign-stops\/\" title=\"Biden Underwater by Double Digits in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania Ahead of Campaign Stops\">-state college tuition<\/a> for illegal immigrants, require law enforcement to cooperate with deportation efforts, and make changes to the ballot measure process.<\/p>\n<p>Lawmakers in both chambers began filing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flhouse.gov\/Sections\/Bills\/bills.aspx?chamber=B&amp;sessionId=107&amp;billSponsorIndex=-1&amp;billReferredIndex=-1&amp;billTypeIndex=-1&amp;billListIndex=-1&amp;billCategoryIndex=-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"bills\">bills<\/a> on those subjects on Sunday, but how the bills will be considered is yet to be seen.
