In a memo directed to employees, Target&#8217;s leadership indicated that this decision \u200bstems from years of \u2063research and feedback about the changing external landscape. <\/p>\n<p>The company will no longer pursue its policy of selling a certain percentage of merchandise from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/insurance-companies-reaping-benefits-from-protests-get-in-line-with-black-lives-matter\/\" title=\"Insurance Companies, Reaping Benefits from Protests, Get in Line with Black Lives Matter\">black-owned businesses<\/a>,\u200c which was initiated as part of its DEI initiatives following the 2020 \u200dBlack lives Matter protests. This DEI practice was implemented following the 2020 Black Lives Matter protests in response to the death of George Floyd. The company will also be ending its three-year DEI goals.
