This ruling follows \u2062President Donald Trump&#8217;s recent commuting of their prison sentences. The judge, Amit Mehta, mandated that\u2064 the eight activists must also seek approval\u2063 before accessing the U.S. capitol and surrounding federal buildings. This\u2062 decision comes after Rhodes\u2019 return to the Capitol, where he reportedly met with a Republican congressman. Gus Bilirakis (R-FL). Rhodes was serving out an 18-year prison sentence when he was released this week because of Trump&rsquo;s commutation.<\/p>\n<p>Others under Mehta&rsquo;s modified prison release conditions included Kelly Meggs, Roberto Minuta, Edward Vallejo, David Moerschel, Kenneth Harrelson, Jessica Watkins, and Joseph Hackett. Rhodes and five others were convicted of a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/proud-boy-enrique-tarrios-jan-6-sentencing-abruptly-rescheduled\/\" title=\"Enrique Tarrio&#039;s Jan. 6 sentencing rescheduled suddenly.\">rare seditious conspiracy charge<\/a> for their outsize roles in organizing the riot as an answer to Trump&rsquo;s 2020 election loss.<\/p>\n<p>On his first day in office, Trump commuted the sentences of 14 defendants and pardoned all of the more than 1,200 violent and nonviolent defendants who had been convicted over the riot. He also ordered his Department of Justice to dismiss all pending Jan. 6 cases, and his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/new-orleans-mayor-appoints-temporary-police-superintendent-amid-crime-surge-recall-effort-against-her\/\" title=\"New Orleans Mayor Appoints Temporary Police Superintendent Amid Crime Surge, Recall Effort Against Her\">newly appointed interim<\/a> U.S. attorney for Washington, D.C., Ed Martin, has been filing those dismissal motions all week.<\/p>\n<p>Rhodes, who helped organize the riot in encrypted chats and urged militia-style fighting at it, has <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/365344\/oath-keepers-head-stewart-rhodes-sentenced-to-18-years-in-prison-for-seditious-conspiracy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">remained<\/a> remorseless over his actions despite the incident leaving dozens of police officers injured and Capitol property damaged.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My only regret is that they should have brought rifles. &hellip; We should have brought rifles. We could have fixed it right then and there.
