the news outlet said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The peso, one of the most heavily traded emerging-market currencies, lost 18.5% against the greenback last year, and now trades around the lowest level since mid-2022 at 20.7 per dollar,&rdquo; according to Bloomberg.<\/p>\n<p>On Wednesday, after the peso&rsquo;s precipitous one-day decline, Sheinbaum called for &ldquo;cool heads&rdquo; to prevail.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s important to always keep a cool head and refer to signed agreements, beyond the discourse itself,&rdquo; she told reporters during her regular conference, according to a translation by the Associated Press.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/WROFur68Znk?si=fb2n84NRH0xsvgw3\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>She appeared to be referring to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/promises-kept-trump-signs-trillion-dollar-trade-deal-democrats-focus-impeachment\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">USMCA trade agreement<\/a> negotiated during Trump&rsquo;s first term.
