In response, the board of directors called on investors to vote against it. Costco&rsquo;s next shareholders&rsquo; meeting will be held Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The <em>Washington Examiner<\/em> reached out to Costco for comment.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Meta, Walmart, Lowe&rsquo;s, Toyota, Ford,&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/retail\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">and others<\/a> rolled back their&nbsp;diversity, equity, and inclusion practices. These companies will no longer make hiring and firing decisions based on race or any other identity while phasing out the phrase &ldquo;DEI.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Costco&rsquo;s most recent negotiation came Wednesday when it met with the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, which represents the company&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/labor-board-dismisses-union-misconduct-complaints-following-biden-purge\/\" title=\"Labor Board Dismisses Union Misconduct Complaints Following Biden Purge\">unionized workers<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>An impending strike slated to begin Jan. 31 would affect more than 600 locations nationwide.
