The new fiscal year started July 1.<\/p>\n<p>Total gambled exceeded $629 million and total won by bettors topped $590 million in November. Promotional wagering revenue, $202 million the first month, was $16.3 million.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Five things, per Session Law 2023-42, can happen with the proceeds. There&rsquo;s $2 million annually to the Department of Health and Human Services for gambling addiction education and treatment programs; and there&rsquo;s $1 million annually to the North Carolina Amateur Sports to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/monthly-sports-wagering-take-up-slightly-and-football-is-coming-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Monthly sports wagering take up slightly, and football is coming - Washington Examiner\">expand youth sports opportunities<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Also annually, a third element is $300,000 to each of <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">13 state public school collegiate athletic departments<\/a>. Fourth is $1 million annually to the N.C.
