The <em>Associated Press<\/em> called Florida for President-elect <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Donald-Trump\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Donald Trump<\/a> at 8:01 p.m. EST on election night, while Arizona was called for Trump four days later at 9:21 p.m. EST &ndash; being the last state called in the election despite it not being the closest race.<\/p>\n<p>Republican State-Rep. Alexander Kolodin introduced legislation earlier this week he claims would speed up election results, by mirroring several of Florida&rsquo;s election policies.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/in_focus\/3232980\/problems-opportunities-trump-mass-deportation-plan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>THE PROBLEMS AND OPPORTUNITIES WITH TRUMP&rsquo;S MASS DEPORTATION PLAN<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In Florida, election results are counted with greater speed and security, leading to something that most Arizonans can only dream of &ndash; high levels of public satisfaction with the ways that elections are<br \/>administered,&rdquo; Kolodin said in a statement Tuesday.<\/p>\n<p>The legislation would change the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/election-expert-finds-possible-flaw-in-signature-verification-process\/\" title=\"Election expert finds possible flaw in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/breaking-kraken-released-attorney-sidney-powell-files-104-page-bombshell-complaint-of-massive-fraud-in-georgia-election-update-michigan-too\/\" title=\"BREAKING: KRAKEN RELEASED! Attorney Sidney Powell Files 104 Page BOMBSHELL COMPLAINT of Massive Fraud in Georgia Election - Update: Michigan too\">signature verification<\/a> process&#8221;>signature verification process<\/a> used for early voting, instead giving voters a &ldquo;unique Early Voter ID number&rdquo; as a way of doing away with the &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">time-consuming signature verification process<\/a>.&rdquo; <\/p>\n<p>The other major change it would make is the deadline for when early votes may be dropped off. Currently, Arizona voters may drop off their <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arizona-gop-gov-vetoes-22-bills-including-election-integrity-anti-crt\/\" title=\"Arizona GOP Gov Vetoes 22 Bills, Including Election Integrity, Anti-CRT\">early ballots<\/a> at a polling place on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Election-Day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Election Day<\/a>, but under this legislation, it would make the Friday before Election Day the deadline for ballots to be dropped off.<\/p>\n<p>Other changes to election law under the proposed legislation would include verifying a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mailing-it-in-swing-state-ballot-lawsuits-could-shape-2024-presidential-race-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Swing State Ballot Lawsuits May Impact 2024 Presidential Race - Washington Examiner\">voter&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s address each election cycle and banning foreign funds from elections.<\/p>\n<p>During a committee hearing in the state legislature Wednesday, Maricopa County Recorder Justin Heap praised the legislation for proposing changing the verification system away from signature verification, and the ballot drop-off deadline.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Having a cut-off several days before the election allows the recorder&rsquo;s office to catch up and make sure that we can get the segregation, so we can get you the results out on election night,&rdquo;
