Young claimed he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/how-democrats-built-chinas-economy-from-clinton-to-biden\/\" title=\"How Democrats Built China\u2019s Economy, From Clinton To Biden\">suffered job loss due<\/a> to a CNN report that accused him of exploiting afghans on a\u2064 &#8220;black market,&#8221; a term he argued harmed his reputation. Despite Axelrod&#8217;s claims that Young had lied about his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/california-reparations-plan-calls-for-ending-child-support-debt\/\" title=\"California&#039;s reparations plan aims to eliminate child support debt.\">employment prospects due<\/a> to retaining a security clearance, it was later revealed that Young had actually lost that clearance in 2022. Axelrod argued Young had maintained a security clearance <em>after<\/em> CNN released a <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/10\/trial-by-ambush-cnn-defamation-trial-gets-heated-during-third-day-of-hearings\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">report<\/a> that allegedly falsely accused Young of exploiting Afghans seeking evacuation from Afghanistan on a &ldquo;black market.&rdquo; Young testified that he lost work as a result of the allegedly defamatory report due to the use of the term &ldquo;black market.&rdquo; Jurors were shown a defense contract that Young had that <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/08\/jurors-riveted-by-evidence-cnn-defamed-navy-vet-reports\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">expressly prohibited<\/a> involvement in &ldquo;black markets.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<div class=\"fdrlst__b89e9-paragraph-2 d-flex justify-content-center\" style=\"margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center; \" id=\"fdrlst__b89e9-143839945\">\n<div id=\"div-gpt-ad-1463670073398-0\" class=\"mb-30\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>But Axelrod argued that Young must have lied about being able to obtain work in the subsequent months since he had a security clearance. But Young&rsquo;s counsel informed the court that Young recently just learned that he actually lost his security clearance in 2022. <\/p>\n<p>When asked Thursday morning whether an apology had been given to Young, Axelrod said he had &ldquo;not&rdquo; apologized. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Why don&rsquo;t you do that and I will judge whether it&rsquo;s an apology,&rdquo; Henry told Axelrod. &ldquo;Saying &lsquo;I&rsquo;m sorry you were offended by that,&rsquo; that&rsquo;s not an apology.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Mr. Young, I apologize for the statements I made about the Helios contract and what it represented,&rdquo; Axelrod said to Young. &ldquo;I said you lied during your deposition. Your deposition testimony was similar to what we saw in the Conway letter and for that I do apologize.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>But Young said he did not accept the apology. <\/p>\n<p>Jurors are set to begin deliberations Thursday. <\/p>\n<p>Young <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2025\/01\/08\/navy-veteran-suing-cnn-for-defamation-breaks-down-at-trial-ive-just-been-completely-destroyed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">previously testified<\/a> that his life has been &ldquo;wrecked&rdquo; by the CNN report and that he has not worked since the broadcast in November of 2021. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not the same man that I was,&rdquo; Young testified. &ldquo;I&rsquo;m not the same person wife married. I&rsquo;m humiliated about that.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Young testified he has since been put on &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/navy-veteran-suing-cnn-for-defamation-breaks-down-at-trial\/\" title=\"Navy Veteran Suing CNN For Defamation Breaks Down At Trial\">multiple medications&#038;rdquo<\/a>; for depression and panic attacks and that he doesn&rsquo;t know what the future holds without being able to earn a living. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I try to tell myself it&rsquo;s going to be okay, too.
