The only standards lowered are ones for the secretary of defense so he can take this job,&rdquo; she continued.<\/p>\n<p>During a Tuesday confirmation hearing, Duckworth and Hegseth sparred about numerous matters, including his views on women in combat.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Let me just say that the American people need a secretary of defense who&rsquo;s ready to lead on Day One.
