Now he is one of the few Republicans who has yet to express support for Gabbard, President-elect Donald Trump&rsquo;s nominee to head the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/fact-check-viral-x-image-does-not-show-israeli-settlers-trying-to-tear-palestinian-child-apart\/\" title=\"FACT CHECK: Viral X Image Does Not Show Israeli Settlers Trying To Tear Palestinian Child Apart\">country&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s intelligence community.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>When her Cabinet nomination comes up for a Senate vote in the coming weeks, Gabbard can afford to lose only three votes from the Senate Republican Conference to assume the position.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Curtis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/01\/14\/congress\/curtis-undecided-on-gabbard-hegseth-00198108\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">said<\/a> during<em> <\/em>a <em>Politico<\/em> Live event Tuesday that he remained uneasy about her nomination because, unlike other Trump Cabinet nominees, he hadn&rsquo;t had a face-to-face meeting with her.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The biggest problem for me is she&rsquo;s been so low-profile,&rdquo; he said. &ldquo;The others have come to my office and so if you go back to that analogy of a sheet of music, her sheet&rsquo;s pretty blank for me. Marco Rubio (R-FL), who was nominated to be the next secretary of state.<\/p>\n<p>However, just a few holdouts from skeptical GOP lawmakers, such as Curtis, could <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3285440\/confirmation-hearing-tulsi-gabbard-limbo-democrats-seek-delay\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">derail or stall<\/a> some nominations, including Gabbard and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3286567\/four-takeaways-pete-hegseth-contentious-senate-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Pete Hegseth<\/a>, Trump&rsquo;s nominee to lead the Department of Defense.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3286567\/four-takeaways-pete-hegseth-contentious-senate-hearing\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">FOUR TAKEAWAYS FROM PETE HEGSETH&rsquo;S CONTENTIOUS SENATE HEARING<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Curtis signaled Tuesday that he would be open to supporting both Gabbard and Hegseth.
