Ranking member Martin Heinrich (D-NM) and the rest of the Democrats on the committee sent a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.heinrich.senate.gov\/imo\/media\/doc\/letter_to_chairman_lee.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">letter<\/a> to Lee noting they had not received the proper vetting material.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Committee still has not received the <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">standard financial disclosure report<\/a>, ethics agreement, or the opinions from the designated agency ethics officer and the Office of Government Ethics stating that the nominee is in compliance with the ethics laws, which are required by law of all nominees for positions that require Senate confirmation,&rdquo; Heinrich said.<\/p>\n<p>The New Mexico Democrat<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3281036\/trump-nominees-confirmation-delays-inauguration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> raised concerns<\/a> last week about Burgum&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-blasts-letitia-james-for-urging-judge-to-reject-his-175m-bond\/\" title=\"Trump criticizes Letitia James for recommending judge reject his 5M bond\">hearing taking place<\/a> before the proper paperwork had been received.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The Senate has a constitutional duty to advise and, if it determines, consent to the President&rsquo;s nominees. This <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/utah-bill-barring-transgender-surgeries-for-children-is-toothless\/\" title=\"Utah Bill Barring Transgender Surgeries For Children Is Toothless\">requires careful consideration<\/a> of each nominee,&rdquo; Heinrich wrote in a statement released last week. &ldquo;To achieve this, for decades, nominees that have come before the ENR Committee have submitted responses to a standard questionnaire and a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-nominees-face-confirmation-delays-with-inauguration-approaching-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Trump nominees face confirmation delays with inauguration approaching - Washington Examiner\">completed financial disclosure form<\/a>, approval from the Department&rsquo;s ethics office, and completion of an FBI background check.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The delay of Burgum&rsquo;s hearing appears to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/senate\/3281036\/trump-nominees-confirmation-delays-inauguration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">part of a larger theme<\/a> as several nominations are falling behind schedule due to administrative delays. In addition to Burgum&rsquo;s hearing, Tulsi Gabbard, Trump&rsquo;s pick for director of national intelligence, does not have a hearing scheduled due to missing vetting materials.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Senate Majority Leader <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/john-thune\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">John Thune<\/a> (R-SD) has been under pressure to get most of Trump&rsquo;s nominees ready for a vote by the time he is sworn in on Jan. 20 or shortly thereafter.
