In a <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/113811527858687071\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"statement \">statement<\/a> posted on Truth Social, Trump pointed to Bradbury&rsquo;s work in the same department in his first administration as general counsel, saying &ldquo;he helped rebuild our crumbling Infrastructure, and cut regulations that were killing jobs and our incredible Small Businesses.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In addition to roles in the DOT, Bradbury was chairman of the board of directors for the Union Station Redevelopment Corporation, served in the Department of Justice in the early 2000s, and was also a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/steve-bradbury-8814a82b\/details\/experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"clerk\">clerk<\/a> for Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas for one year in the 1990s, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/steve-bradbury-8814a82b\/details\/experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"according to\">according to<\/a> his LinkedIn profile.<\/p>\n<p>He will join former Wisconsin Republican Rep. Sean Duffy, who Trump nominated to be his secretary of transportation and who still needs to be confirmed by the Senate, in the department. Duffy&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/01\/07\/congress\/sean-duffy-confirmation-hearing-00196809\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"confirmation hearing\">confirmation hearing<\/a> has been scheduled for Jan. 15.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deputy secretary of the interior<\/h2>\n<p>Trump then selected Katharine MacGregor as deputy secretary of the interior, a position she held before for one year in his first term.<\/p>\n<p>MacGregor has a long <a href=\"https:\/\/www.linkedin.com\/in\/katharine-macgregor-ba9b6459\/details\/experience\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"background\">background<\/a> in energy policy, previously serving as a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/huge-chinese-spy-rep-swalwell-was-sleeping-with-is-pictured-with-chinese-agent-who-spied-on-sen-feinstein-for-20-years\/\" title=\"HUGE: Chinese Spy Rep. Swalwell Was Sleeping With Is Pictured with Chinese Agent Who Spied on Sen. Feinstein for 20 Years\">staff member<\/a> for the House Committee on Natural Resources for five years, before serving in various roles in the Interior Department. She has been <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/hunter-biden-defector-emails-pipeline-to-obama-admin-seen-as-currency\/\" title=\"Hunter Biden Defector Emails: &#039;Pipeline&#039; to Obama Admin Seen as &#039;Currency&#039;\">vice president<\/a> of environmental services at NextEra Energy, a Palm Beach-based renewable energy company, for the past two years. <\/p>\n<p>The Senate easily <a href=\"https:\/\/rollcall.com\/2020\/02\/25\/senate-confirms-a-second-former-lobbyist-atop-interior\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"confirmed \">confirmed <\/a>her for deputy secretary of the interior by a vote of 58-38 in 2020.<\/p>\n<p>She will be joined by interior secretary nominee Doug Burgum, a former governor of North Dakota who ran a failed bid for the Republican presidential nomination in 2024, whose Senate <a href=\"https:\/\/www.energy.senate.gov\/hearings\/2025\/1\/hearing-to-consider-the-nomination-of-the-honorable-doug-burgum-to-be-secretary-of-the-interior\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"confirmation hearing\">confirmation hearing<\/a> is set for Jan. 14.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deputy secretary of energy<\/h2>\n<p>Trump also announced that James P. Danly, who has a military background and served at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, will be his deputy secretary of energy.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/113811581986342614\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"statement\">statement<\/a>, Trump said Danly&rsquo;s work at FERC &ldquo;won countless cases before the Federal Courts, and drove regulatory reform to ensure abundant and affordable energy for the American People.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Danly was tapped to lead FERC in 2020 after then-Chairman Neil Chatterjee <a href=\"https:\/\/www.utilitydive.com\/news\/trump-ousts-chatterjee-taps-danly-to-lead-ferc\/588526\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"angered\">angered<\/a> Republican officials who feared he was leaning too far to the left, including on carbon pricing. Danly <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hydroreview.com\/regulation-and-policy\/ferc\/danly-stepping-down-as-ferc-commissioner\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"stepped down\">stepped down<\/a> from the role at the end of 2023.<\/p>\n<p>He will join oil executive Chris Wright, whose Senate confirmation hearing is scheduled for Jan. 15. That date could change, however, as Senate Energy and Natural Resources ranking member Martin Heinrich (D-NM) is pushing for committee Chairman Mike Lee (R-UT) to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.politico.com\/live-updates\/2025\/01\/08\/congress\/delay-sought-for-hearing-for-energy-secretary-00197234\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"delay \">delay<\/a> the hearing until all relevant paperwork is submitted.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deputy secretary of veterans affairs<\/h2>\n<p>Trump picked Paul R. Lawrence, who also served in his first administration as undersecretary of benefits for the Department of Veterans Affairs, as deputy secretary of veterans affairs.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/113811582890637417\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"statement\">statement<\/a>, Trump said, &ldquo;Paul was a great VA Under Secretary of Benefits in my First Term, implementing Legislation I signed to improve the GI Bill and Appeals Modernization. Paul also helped us drive the claims backlog to its LOWEST LEVEL in VA History.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Lawrence will join former Georgia Republican Rep. Doug Collins, who Trump nominated to lead the agency. Collins&rsquo;s confirmation hearing is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/event\/119th-congress\/senate-event\/336500\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"scheduled \">scheduled<\/a> for Jan. 14.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Deputy administrator of the EPA<\/h2>\n<p>In another high-level nomination on Saturday, Trump selected David Fotouhi as deputy administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/113811719432524620\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">statement<\/a>, Trump listed some of the policies that Fotouhi and Lee Zeldin, Trump&rsquo;s nominee for head of the EPA, will work to implement.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;In our Second Term, David will work with our incredible EPA Administrator, Lee Zeldin, to advance pro Growth policies, unleash America&rsquo;s Energy Dominance, and prioritize Clean Air, Clean Water, and Clean Soil for ALL Americans,&rdquo; he said.<\/p>\n<p>Fotouhi served in the EPA all four years of Trump&rsquo;s first term in various legal positions, including as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/labor-board-dismisses-union-misconduct-complaints-following-biden-purge\/\" title=\"Labor Board Dismisses Union Misconduct Complaints Following Biden Purge\">deputy general counsel<\/a>.
