The Chamber did not donate to President Joe Biden&rsquo;s 2021 inauguration. In a statement to the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>, the organization touted its priorities heading into the next administration.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The chamber is focused on policies that help America achieve the economic growth it needs to increase paychecks, make housing more affordable, ensure we have a competitive tax code in place when the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act expires, and cut burdensome regulations that inhibit business from thriving to create opportunities for every American to reach their American dream,&rdquo; said a spokesperson for the group, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.govinfo.gov\/content\/pkg\/PLAW-115publ97\/pdf\/PLAW-115publ97.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">referring<\/a> to Trump&rsquo;s 2017 tax cuts bill. Key provisions of the legislation are set to expire in December 2025, <a href=\"https:\/\/about.bgov.com\/insights\/elections\/2025-tax-policy-crossroads-what-will-happen-when-the-tcja-expires\/#:~:text=Key%20provisions%20from%20the%20Tax,with%20economic%20growth%20and%20fairness.\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">according<\/a> to <em>Bloomberg Government<\/em>. <\/p>\n<p>The spokesperson added, &ldquo;Working with the incoming Trump administration and Congress, we believe there are many opportunities to ensure the success of American workers and businesses.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Chamber&rsquo;s $50,000 donation illustrates how influential advocacy groups and corporations are flocking to Washington for the inauguration and seeking to get in the good graces of Trump. The number <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/technology\/3281096\/microsoft-1-million-trump-inauguration\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">is still substantially less<\/a> than the giving of companies such as Microsoft, Google, Amazon, and Meta, which pledged $1 million to the inauguration.<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s inaugural committee has reeled in over $170 million &mdash; money used for galas and receptions accompanying his Jan. 20 swearing-in.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, the Chamber paid more than 100 lobbyists to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/internet-archive-seems-to-exclude-twitter-web-page-for-taylor-lorenz-who-revealed-identification-of-libs-of-tiktok-from-their-serps\/\" title=\"Internet Archive SEEMS TO Exclude Twitter Web page For Taylor Lorenz, Who Revealed Identification Of Libs Of TikTok, From Their SERP&#039;S\">influence government policy<\/a> on issues such as torts, trade, finance, banking, and matters related to the federal budget, according to lobbying disclosures filed with the Senate.<\/p>\n<p>Chamber employees contributed hundreds of thousands of dollars to campaigns and political action committees this election cycle, with 86% of the money going to Republicans, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.opensecrets.org\/orgs\/us-chamber-of-commerce\/recipients?id=D000019798\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">according<\/a> to OpenSecrets, a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/brookings-institution-boosts-china-initiatives-linked-to-board-member\/\" title=\"Brookings Institution Boosts China Initiatives Linked to Board Member\">nonpartisan watchdog group<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Still, the Chamber has increasingly faced scrutiny from a more populist Republican Party, with some lawmakers <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/business-a-lobbying\/543387-tom-cotton-chamber-commerce-front-service-woke-corporations\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">arguing<\/a> it runs cover for &ldquo;woke&rdquo; corporations.
