That means that both episodes had an entire week to attract streaming viewership yet failed to do so.<\/p>\n<p>Of course, the problem runs much deeper than &ldquo;Skeleton Crew.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>In fact, never having watched the show, I can venture no insights into its content. Perhaps its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/robin-williamss-daughter-says-it-is-disturbing-ai-is-used-to-replicate-fathers-voice\/\" title=\"Robin Williams&#039;s daughter finds it &#039;disturbing&#039; that AI is used to imitate her father&#039;s voice.\">streaming performance<\/a> will improve via word of mouth.<\/p>\n<p>As <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/james-earl-jones-played-star-wars-darth-vader-died-ny-home\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Darth Vader<\/a> said of Obi-Wan Kenobi in 1983&rsquo;s &ldquo;Return of the Jedi,&rdquo; however, it now seems irrefutable that Disney&rsquo;s &ldquo;Star Wars&rdquo;-related &ldquo;failure is complete.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rqhwiXPQ2Dk?si=8S-LFnpYw0zSFiRb\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>For instance, viewers fled in droves from Disney&rsquo;s &ldquo;The Acolyte,&rdquo; a widely-panned &ldquo;Star Wars&rdquo; series that debuted in 2024.<\/p>\n<p>And for good reason. After all, &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fans-revolt-disastrous-star-wars-show-introduces-massive-plot-hole-pronouns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Acolyte<\/a>&rdquo; subjected viewers to lesbian space witches, intergalactic creatures with pronouns, and &mdash; as if runaway wokeness did not alienate enough of the show&rsquo;s prospective audience &mdash; a mile-wide plot hole.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/lead-actress-putrid-star-wars-series-puts-vulgar-rap-video-respond-intolerable-racism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Amandla Stenberg<\/a>, the show&rsquo;s black lead actress, responded to backlash by playing the race card in a vulgar rap video.<\/p>\n<p>Then, in August, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/disney-pulls-plug-wokest-star-wars-project-ever-fans-revolt\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Disney<\/a> mercifully canceled &ldquo;The Acolyte&rdquo; after only one season.<\/p>\n<p>Again, those with long memories who have largely stopped watching &ldquo;Star Wars&rdquo; should probably analyze its recent offerings with humility.<\/p>\n<p>Indeed, fans&rsquo; general disenchantment with the franchise&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">direction dates back decades<\/a>. I, for one, can recall the relative excitement of traveling an hour with three friends to watch a midnight premiere of &ldquo;Star Wars, Episode I: The Phantom Menace&rdquo; in 1999, as well as the relative disappointment on the car ride home.<\/p>\n<p>That episode has improved with time, in my opinion, but it remains one of the least-popular &ldquo;Star Wars&rdquo; movies.
