Bush, criticized the administration&rsquo;s attempt to reinterpret Title IX. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It is abundantly clear that discrimination on the basis of sex means discrimination on the basis of being a male or female,&rdquo; Reeves <a href=\"https:\/\/storage.courtlistener.com\/recap\/gov.uscourts.kyed.104801\/gov.uscourts.kyed.104801.143.0.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">wrote<\/a>. &ldquo;Expanding the meaning of &lsquo;on the basis of sex&rsquo; to include &lsquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/texas-supreme-court-upholds-state-ban-on-child-transing\/\" title=\"Texas Supreme Court Upholds State Ban On Child Transing\">gender identity&#038;rsquo<\/a>; turns Title IX on its head.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The ruling comes after U.S. District Court Judge Terry Doughty issued a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3045584\/federal-judge-blocks-bidens-title-ix-overhaul\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">preliminary injunction<\/a> in a related case in June. Doughty, based in Louisiana, argued the Biden administration&rsquo;s changes violated the separation of powers and were inconsistent with Title IX&rsquo;s original intent. He stated that the law &ldquo;was written and intended to protect biological women from discrimination.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Doughty also rejected the administration&rsquo;s reliance on the Supreme Court&rsquo;s 2020&nbsp;<em>Bostock v. Clayton County<\/em>&nbsp;decision, which expanded sex discrimination protections to include transgender identity in employment law under Title VII. and Montana Attorney General Austin Knudsen praised the outcome as a safeguard for women&rsquo;s rights. &ldquo;This decision will keep young women and girls protected from dangerous situations, just as Title IX has done for decades,&rdquo;
