And they try to do so, and they can&rsquo;t. The system prevents them from doing so,&rdquo; Musk continued.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DOGE has no direct power to make spending or regulatory cuts to the federal government, but Musk has a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3273351\/musk-influence-trump-double-edged-sword-tank-gop-prospects\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">strong influence<\/a> in the MAGA wing of the Republican Party, as seen when he <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/congressional\/3265360\/congress-grows-weary-elon-musk-meddling-spending-bill-crisis-unfolds\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">shot down<\/a> a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kevin-hassett-cards-are-aligned-for-bipartisan-spending-bill\/\" title=\"Kevin Hassett: &#039;Cards Are Aligned&#039; for Bipartisan Spending Bill\">bipartisan spending bill<\/a> to keep the government open late last year.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Members on both sides of the aisle on Capitol Hill have embraced some of DOGE&rsquo;s ideas to cut spending. Rep. Jared Moskowitz (D-FL) has been supportive of some of DOGE&rsquo;s initiatives, becoming the first Democrat to join the DOGE caucus.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong><\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;This caucus has no power, does not take any votes.
