So, we&rsquo;re going to get back to our roots and focus on reducing mistakes, simplifying our policies, and restoring free expression on our platforms. More specifically, here&rsquo;s what we&rsquo;re going to do.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;First, we&rsquo;re going to get rid of fact-checkers and replace them with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/jewish-group-expects-antisemitism-to-flourish-online-with-meta-changes-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Jewish group expects antisemitism to &#039;flourish&#039; online with Meta changes - Washington Examiner\">community notes similar<\/a> to X starting in the US. You may be thinking to yourself, &ldquo;Wait, isn&rsquo;t the Babylon Bee a satire site?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Yeah, exactly. That&rsquo;s kind of the problem.<\/p>\n<p>First off, arguably the most infamous of these &mdash; where the Bee received a fact-checking ding because Snopes, then a Meta partner (they dropped out of the program in 2019), deemed &ldquo;CNN Purchases Industrial-Sized Washing Machine To Spin News Before Publication&rdquo; to be <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fb-apologized-snopes-defending-fact-checking-christian-satire-page\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">misinformation worthy of censorship and demonetization<\/a>.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">1. CNN Purchases Industrial-Sized Washing Machine To Spin News Before Publication<\/p>\n<p>This was fact-checked by Snopes, and threatened us with suppression and demonetization for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/us-allies-and-peers-move-toward-regulating-misinformation-on-big-tech\/\" title=\"US allies and peers aim to regulate &#039;misinformation&#039; on Big Tech.\">sharing false information<\/a>. Ninth Circuit Court Overturns Death Of Ruth Bader Ginsburg<\/p>\n<p>USA Today, another one of Facebook&rsquo;s fact-checking partners, helpfully pointed out that this was satire. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/0ckOywS9re\">pic.twitter.com\/0ckOywS9re<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; The Babylon Bee (@TheBabylonBee) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheBabylonBee\/status\/1876784207521022100?\">January 8, 2025<\/a><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"https:\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/p>\n<p>USA Today&rsquo;s 2020 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.usatoday.com\/story\/news\/factcheck\/2020\/09\/27\/fact-check-only-satire-could-9th-circuit-overturn-ginsburgs-death\/3548008001\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">fact check<\/a> noted what should be obvious to anyone looking at this: that the headline &ldquo;is a nod to the contentious history between the Trump administration and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 9th Circuit. The Babylon Bee is &lsquo;the world&rsquo;s best satire site,&rsquo; according to its website.&rdquo; (That last part is actually real, assuming Slate isn&rsquo;t a satire website. Still not sure on this one.)<\/p>\n<p>Another USA Today fact-check: &ldquo;With Moon Water Announcement, Trump Proposes Space Navy.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;You can also tell it&rsquo;s satire because if you look really closely, you can see there&rsquo;s a picture of an aircraft carrier on the moon,&rdquo; the Bee noted.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">5. (Bee headline: &ldquo;Elevation Church Debuts Water Slide Baptismal.&rdquo;)<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Well, OK, this one is believable,&rdquo; they noted. However, &ldquo;Pope Francis Says Covid Vaccine Will Now Be Required To Enter Heaven&rdquo; definitely is not. That one was fact-checked by Reuters. One of the English language&rsquo;s premier wire services, everyone.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">7. Pope Francis Says Covid Vaccine Will Now Be Required To Enter Heaven<\/p>\n<p>Another believable one, if we&rsquo;re being honest.
