Unlike past contests marked by ideological ‍divides,⁢ this race is primarily about party mechanics, which some critics perceive as⁢ uninspiring. Martin, known for empowering state parties and leaning toward a populist approach, focuses on labor issues. In contrast, wikler enjoys strong support from the Democratic establishment. The race is notable for a lack of a grand ideological struggle characteristic of previous races, with the main contention being the inner workings of party mechanics. Critics within the party complain that the race is uninspired, the New York Times reported.

Sen.
