Cordi, the homepage editor for the <em>Washington Examiner<\/em>, called this &ldquo;a huge deal&rdquo; considering how much Trump overperformed in New Jersey, citing &ldquo;the energy&rdquo; he and many others felt during the Wildwood rally Trump held last year, <a href=\"https:\/\/abc7ny.com\/post\/donald-trump-wildwood-nj-2024-rally-new-jersey-tickets\/14801435\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">which one local official estimated that 100,000 people attended.<\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/in_focus\/3264633\/top-2025-governor-special-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">THE TOP 2025 GOVERNOR AND SPECIAL ELECTION RACES TO WATCH<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I thought that this would be closer even than it was, and it was just incredible to see,&rdquo; Cordi said on <em>The Matt Rooney Show<\/em>. &ldquo;But Republicans have a lot of reasons to be optimistic in 2025. Obviously, Trump came as close as any Republican since George Bush in 1992 to taking New Jersey, so that&rsquo;s huge. You have a huge rightward shift. You have a really electable slate of Republican candidates this year. You have the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arthur-schaper-a-reflection-on-election-2022\/\" title=\"Arthur Schaper: A Reflection On Election 2022\">incumbency factor<\/a>, where [Gov. Phil] Murphy&rsquo;s termed out, right? He pointed to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.uhaul.com\/Articles\/About\/U-Haul-Growth-States-Of-2024-South-Carolina-Tops-List-for-First-Time-33083\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">recent survey<\/a> from U-Haul<\/a> that found that New Jersey had the third-least residence growth in 2024, whereas Republican-led states, such as South Carolina, Texas, and Florida, were toward the top of the most moved-to states.<\/p>\n<p>Another ace that the Republican Party has ahead of the 2025 New Jersey elections, Cordi argued, is &ldquo;the Scott Presler factor,&rdquo; referring to political activist and <a href=\"https:\/\/earlyvoteaction.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Early Vote Action<\/a> founder&nbsp;Scott Presler. Cordi explained that Presler ran around <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/pennsylvania\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Pennsylvania<\/a> &ldquo;like a chicken with his head cut off&rdquo; registering voters ahead of the 2024 election and was credited by former Republican National Committee co-Chairwoman <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/lara-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Lara Trump<\/a> and other major Republicans for helping Trump win the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/no-spike-in-florida-coronavirus-cases-despite-no-mask-mandate\/\" title=\"No Spike in Florida Coronavirus Cases Despite No Mask Mandate\">state&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s electoral votes.<\/p>\n<p>Presler has already previewed his plan to flip New Jersey in 2025 and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/media\/republican-influencer-reveals-plans-turn-new-jersey-red-helping-trump-win-pennsylvania\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">will use his &ldquo;Pennsylvania model&rdquo; to help Republicans in the Garden State this year<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Cordi also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/state\/3273526\/new-jersey-governor-race-maga-wild-card-factor\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">previewed the declared gubernatorial candidates among Republicans<\/a>, including state Sen. Jon Bramnick, radio host Bill Spadea, former Republican gubernatorial candidate Jack Ciattarelli, and former state Sen. Ed Durr.
