Now, to do that takes longer,&rdquo; Trump continued.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3226193\/which-biden-executive-orders-first-to-go-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>HERE&rsquo;S WHICH BIDEN EXECUTIVE ORDERS WILL BE THE FIRST TO GO UNDER TRUMP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, Senate Majority Leader&nbsp;John Thune (R-SD) favors the two-track approach that prioritizes a border and energy bill and then a second bill focusing on taxes.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We have a lot of respect for Sen. Thune, as you know,&rdquo; Trump told Hewitt. &ldquo;He may have a little bit of a different view of it. I heard other senators yesterday, including [Sen.] Lindsey [Graham] talking about it. They prefer it the other way. So I&rsquo;m open to either way, as long as we get something passed as quickly as possible.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Over the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3276595\/trump-pushing-house-gop-combine-reconciliation-bills-one-package\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">weekend<\/a>, Trump took to Truth Social to call for one reconciliation bill that includes his border, energy, and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/trump-suddenly-backs-one-not-two-reconciliation-bills-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Trump suddenly backs one, not two, reconciliation bills - Washington Examiner\">tax policy priorities<\/a>. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Members of Congress are getting to work on one powerful Bill that will bring our Country back, and make it greater than ever before,&rdquo; Trump <a href=\"https:\/\/truthsocial.com\/@realDonaldTrump\/posts\/113778957475969583\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">wrote<\/a>. &ldquo;We must Secure our Border, Unleash American Energy, and Renew the Trump Tax Cuts, which were the largest in History, but we will make it even better &ndash; NO TAX ON TIPS.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) huddled with Republicans over the weekend, where he said Trump wanted one sweeping piece of legislation, laying out an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/house\/3276732\/johnson-timeline-pass-budget-reconciliation-bill-trump-agenda\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"ambitious timeline\">ambitious timeline<\/a> to pass a single big reconciliation bill.<\/p>\n<p>Yet Trump&rsquo;s recent comments imply that he recognizes that a slim majority in the House could jam up one reconciliation bill, a two-track approach may be necessary to enact his legislative vision.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mike-kelly-same-people-criticizing-trump-peddled-russia-collusion-hoax\/\" title=\"Mike Kelly: Same People Criticizing Trump Peddled Russia Collusion Hoax\">president-elect<\/a> also touched on his relationship with Chinese President Xi Jinping, whom he invited to his inauguration, during the Monday interview. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I had a great relationship until COVID. That was, that was a bridge too far, but I had a great relationship with President Xi,&rdquo; Trump said. &ldquo;It was, you know, very solid, very strong, very friendly. He&rsquo;s a strong man, powerful man.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Trump&rsquo;s threats to impose tariffs on China could increase tensions between the two men, although Trump said they would have an agreeable relationship once he is sworn into office.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/energy-and-environment\/3244616\/trump-energy-agenda-second-term-closer-look\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>TRUMP&rsquo;S ENERGY AGENDA IN THE NEXT ADMINISTRATION: A CLOSER LOOK<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think we will probably get along very well, I predict. But, you know, it&rsquo;s got to be a two-way street. China&rsquo;s ripping off the United States for a trillion dollars a year,&rdquo; Trump said. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We&rsquo;ve already been talking. We&rsquo;ve been talking through their representatives and talking,&rdquo; he added.<\/p>\n<p>Trump also said he would take action to roll back President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/joe-biden\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Joe Biden<\/a>&lsquo;s recent announcement on banning offshore oil and gas drilling along the U.S. coastline.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It&rsquo;s ridiculous. I&rsquo;ll unban it immediately,&rdquo; Trump said on Hewitt&rsquo;s show. &ldquo;I have the right to unban it immediately. What&rsquo;s he doing? Why is he doing it?&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We have something that nobody else has. I mean, nobody has to the extent we have,&rdquo; Trump continued. &ldquo;It&rsquo;ll be more by the time we&rsquo;re finished because I&rsquo;ll be able to expand. You know we&rsquo;re gonna expand our country.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>The Biden administration announced early Monday morning that the president is issuing two Presidential Memoranda under the Outer Continental Shelf Lands Act to protect roughly 625 million acres of the ocean, including parts of the Atlantic and Pacific oceans, the eastern Gulf of Mexico, and Alaska&rsquo;s Northern Bering Sea.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;My decision reflects what coastal communities, businesses, and beachgoers have known for a long time: that drilling off these coasts could cause irreversible damage to places we hold dear and is unnecessary to meet our nation&rsquo;s energy needs,&rdquo; Biden said in a statement. <\/p>\n<p>The efforts are a bid to cement Biden&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">climate change legacy ahead<\/a> of Trump&rsquo;s second administration&rsquo;s incoming energy policies. <\/p>\n<p>Before leaving the White House later this month, Biden will have conserved more than 670 million acres of U.S. lands and waters, more than any other presidential predecessor.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/energy-and-environment\/3221543\/clean-energy-advocates-see-reason-hope-under-trump\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>CLEAN ENERGY ADVOCATES SEE REASON FOR HOPE UNDER TRUMP<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>however, Trump&rsquo;s &ldquo;drill baby drill&rdquo; promises on the campaign trail and his recent comments on Hewitt&rsquo;s show imply that he will quickly seek to undo Biden&rsquo;s legacy after his inauguration on Jan. 20.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We have oil and gas at a level that nobody else has, and we&rsquo;re gonna take advantage of it,&rdquo; Trump said. &ldquo;And when I see somebody say he&rsquo;s gonna ban 625 million acres, he doesn&rsquo;t know what that is. He doesn&rsquo;t even know what 625 acres would look like.
