During these interviews, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mike-kelly-same-people-criticizing-trump-peddled-russia-collusion-hoax\/\" title=\"Mike Kelly: Same People Criticizing Trump Peddled Russia Collusion Hoax\">president-elect<\/a> discussed a wide range of topics that currently affect the United States and voters, such as medical marijuana, artificial intelligence, and in vitro fertilization.<\/p>\n<p>During an interview<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1SsmPh8gCxU&amp;t=4397s\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> on the <em>Bussin&rsquo; with the Boys<\/em> podcast<\/a>, Trump discussed what prompted him to run for president, citing the country&rsquo;s lack of border security and countries such as China &ldquo;ripping us off so badly&rdquo; in trade deals. His comment on the latter topic mirrors remarks he made in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 1988, arguing he was &ldquo;tired of seeing the country get ripped off.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>    <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/SEPs17_AkTI?si=ve1bmJ-dHUTbqRUy\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>    <\/p>\n<p>In 2023, Trump opted to skip the first Republican primary presidential debate and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2572342\/republican-debate-trump-tells-tucker-carlson-his-rivals-are-weak-maniac-and-gonzo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">instead do a one-on-one interview with Tucker Carlson<\/a>, who launched his own show on X after being ousted from Fox News. Among the recommended podcasts that Trump went on was <em>This Past Weekend w\/ Theo Von<\/em>, during which the former president detailed his decisions not to drink or smoke, prompting Von to delve into his past addiction struggles.<\/p>\n<p>Vice President-elect J.D. Vance also made several podcast appearances of his own, talking with Von about the &ldquo;dividing and conquering&rdquo; tactic he and Trump exercised on the campaign trail. Vance also appeared on <em>The Joe Rogan Experience<\/em>, during which <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3211451\/jd-vance-laments-woke-democratic-rhetoric-five-takeaways-joe-rogan\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">he said most Harris supporters are &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">fundamentally good people&#038;rdquo<\/a>;<\/a> and why it was important for him and Trump to reach out to these voters and &ldquo;talk to them.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Once Trump won the election, Trump ally and Ultimate Fighting Championship President <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3220949\/so-fing-back-podcast-hosts-celebrate-trumps-victory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Dana White gave a shoutout to all the podcast hosts<\/a> who gave the president-elect a chance to talk to voters. Von posted footage of White&rsquo;s speech on X, congratulating Trump on winning the election, adding that while he invited all the 2024 candidates to his show, only Trump, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., and Vance were the only ones to accept his invitation.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Spotify clearly recognized the value of podcasts at the start of this year, renewing its<a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2833962\/joe-rogan-receives-new-250-million-spotify-deal\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> deal with Rogan, valued at roughly $250 million<\/a>, in February. The new deal allowed Rogan to expand the availability of his show to other platforms including Apple and YouTube, as doing so allowed the host &ldquo;to continue to maximize the audience of the show across platforms,&rdquo; according to Spotify.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of Trump&rsquo;s inauguration in January 2025, Donald Trump Jr. has floated the possibility that the White House press briefing room <a href=\"https:\/\/www.seattletimes.com\/nation-world\/nation-politics\/trump-jr-says-white-house-press-room-could-replace-journalists-with-podcasters-friends\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">could be opened to podcast hosts and &ldquo;friends&rdquo; of the president<\/a>, expanding the room&rsquo;s availability to others besides traditional journalists.
