Bush did it in 2004), was more like a squeaker than a landslide.<\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We keep misremembering what happened in November,&rdquo; she said.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Yes, Donald Trump won the election, but this wasn&rsquo;t a landslide. It was an evenly divided nation. He got more people, but this was not the seismic shift where 57, 58 percent of America said &lsquo;no.&rsquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;It was less than 50 percent of the electorate who said, &lsquo;This is what we want.&#8217;&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Check out the video here. But spoiler alert: On the substance of it, she&rsquo;s dead wrong.<\/p>\n<div class=\"firefly-embed\"> <iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Stacey Abrams honors Jimmy Carter: He &lsquo;remade Democratic politics&rsquo;\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/qMBhjJ7z4B4?start=496&amp;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>As is usual with accomplished, shameless liars &mdash; and Abrams&rsquo;s branding her state&rsquo;s utterly sensible election integrity law as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/uh-oh-stacey-abrams-now-supports-jim-crow-style-laws-website-says\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&ldquo;the new Jim Crow&rdquo;<\/a> proved she&rsquo;s both &mdash; Abrams based her statement on a technically accurate fact: Trump did not win the majority of the popular votes cast in November.<\/p>\n<p>(He had 49.9 percent, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.reuters.com\/graphics\/USA-ELECTION\/RESULTS\/zjpqnemxwvx\/president\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Reuters<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p>But Abrams is also &ldquo;misremembering&rdquo; pretty much everything about the 2024 election before the actual votes were cast.<\/p>\n<p>Trump ran in the teeth of an unprecedented campaign of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-explains-able-hold-together-facing-four-indictments\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">legalized warfare<\/a> that saw him face criminal indictments at the state level in New York and Georgia and on the federal level in both Washington, D.C., and Florida. (The FBI <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/eric-trump-gives-inside-look-fbi-outrageously-kgb-style-raid-worse-think\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">staged an <em>armed raid<\/em><\/a>  of his home at South Florida&rsquo;s Mar-a-Lago Club in 2022, for crying out loud.)<\/p>\n<p>He ran against the combined might of the establishment media, which blanketed his campaign with critical coverage while fawning over the campaign of Vice President Kamala Harris.<\/p>\n<p>(In August, the conservative <a href=\"https:\/\/newsbusters.org\/blogs\/nb\/rich-noyes\/2024\/08\/19\/study-networks-deliver-massive-media-honeymoon-kamala-harris\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Media Research Center<\/a> estimated 89 percent of Trump coverage in the mainstream media was negative while 84 percent of Harris coverage was positive.)<\/p>\n<p>He ran while the barons of social media (excepting X owner and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/joe-rogan-finally-makes-endorsement-elon-musk-lays-compelling-case-trump-hear\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Trump supporter Elon Musk<\/a>), the glitterati of Hollywood, the political court jesters of late-night television, and virtually every other cultural institution that makes a play of political relevance attacked him &mdash; and his supporters.<\/p>\n<p>And despite all of it, he won &mdash; and he won it in convincing fashion. Contra Abrams, the results represented a &ldquo;seismic shift&rdquo; in American voting.<\/p>\n<p>After four years of failure from President Joe Biden&rsquo;s White House, after watching the southern border surrendered to an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/invasion-usa-biden-sets-new-border-record-illegal-aliens-encountered-august-equivalent-army\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">invasion of illegal immigration<\/a>, the economy struck with crippling inflation, and the world on fire thanks to American weakness, the American electorate rendered a verdict on Democrats and their media enablers that thundered around the globe.<\/p>\n<p>It might be understandable that Abrams&rsquo;s views of elections are skewed. As a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/things-gotten-even-worse-stacey-abrams-blowout-election-loss-former-staffers-furious-report\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">two-time loser<\/a> in Georgia&rsquo;s gubernatorial contests &mdash; 2018 and 2022 &mdash; she might fail to appreciate what democracy looks like outside the overwhelmingly Democratic <a href=\"https:\/\/www.house.ga.gov\/Documents\/Biographies\/abramsStacey.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Atlanta area she represented<\/a> in the Georgia legislature for a decade.<\/p>\n<p>Winning an election in a friendly field isn&rsquo;t exactly preparation for the big time, which might be why <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/abrams-claims-never-denied-outcome-18-election-gop-finds-35-times\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">it was so hard<\/a> for Abrams to admit she lost the first time around.
