father got buried up to his waist under the avalanche but was eventually able to climb out.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The younger brother used a transceiver and an effective search pattern to first attain a signal, and then get close enough to see a couple of fingers of his brother&rsquo;s gloved hand sticking out of the snow,&rdquo; per the UAC.<\/p>\n<p>The younger brother then drove the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/white-house-report-card-all-eyes-on-make-or-break-debate-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"White House Report Card: All eyes on make-or-break debate - Washington Examiner\">older brother &#038;mdash<\/a>; who had broken his leg in the accident &mdash; out of the avalanche on his snowmobile.<\/p>\n<p>The father was also able to ride out on his vehicle.<\/p>\n<p>On Thursday, workers with the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/jill-biden-becomes-victim-poor-sign-placement-high-school-visit-utah\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Utah<\/a> Avalanche Center returned to the scene and recovered the &ldquo;bent-up and broken sled and a badly ripped airbag that the older brother had deployed when he was caught by the avalanche.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;The damage to the sled, the airbag, and the rider was caused by all being dragged violently through a group of trees by the avalanche,&rdquo; the UAC explained.<\/p>\n<p>Toby Weed, a forecaster with the UAC, said the trio was lucky to be alive.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Those guys had a very, very lucky Christmas Eve,&rdquo; Weed told <a href=\"https:\/\/www.fox13now.com\/news\/local-news\/northern-utah\/brothers-survive-cache-county-avalanche-despite-one-being-buried-in-snow\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">KSTU<\/a> in Salt Lake City.<\/p>\n<p>In 2008, two riders &mdash; 22-year-old Erik Jorgensen and 23-year-old Jesse Johnson &mdash; died in a Christmas Eve avalanche in a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/actor-bryan-cranston-nailed-by-line-drive-at-all-star-celeb-softball-game\/\" title=\"Actor Bryan Cranston Nailed by Line Drive at All-Star Celeb Softball Game\">nearby trail<\/a>, Weed recounted.<\/p>\n<p>To prevent such tragedies, Weed urged everyone to check the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/american-mountaineer-found-mummified-22-years-disappearing-avalanche\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">avalanche<\/a> forecast before heading to the hills for recreational activities.<\/p>\n<p>Fortunately, the two brothers and their dad survived the frightening ordeal and were able to celebrate another Christmas together as a family.<\/p>\n<p>These occurrences are a helpful reminder that we should all be grateful for the health and safety of our <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/illegal-accused-killing-boy-12-gets-jail-free-christmas-victims-family-mourns\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">family<\/a> and loved ones during the holidays &mdash;
