The Daily Wire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.dailywire.com\/news\/woman-who-accused-andrew-cuomo-of-sexual-harassment-finally-details-allegations\/\">reported<\/a> at the time:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"19\">\n<p><em>The woman, Lindsey Boylan, tweeted that Cuomo \u201csexually harassed me for years,\u201d adding that \u201cmany saw it, and watched\u201d and that she \u201ccould never anticipate what to expect: would I be grilled on my work (which was very good) or harassed about my looks.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u201cNot knowing what to expect what\u2019s the most upsetting part aside from knowing that no one would do a damn thing even when they saw it. No one. And I *know* I am not the only woman,\u201d she continued. \u201cI\u2019m angry to be put in this situation at all. That because I am a woman, I can work hard my whole life to better myself and help others and yet still fall victim as countless women over generations have. Mostly silently. I hate that some men, like @NYGovCuomo abuse their power.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/03\/16\/nyregion\/cuomo-lindsey-boylan.html?action=click&amp;module=Top%20Stories&amp;pgtype=Homepage\">New York Times<\/a>, which examined the letter attacking Boylan\u2019s credibility, reported that it stated, \u201cWeaponizing a claim of sexual harassment for personal political gain or to achieve notoriety cannot be tolerated. False claims demean the veracity of credible claims.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe initial idea, according to three people with direct knowledge of the events, was to have former Cuomo aides \u2014 especially women \u2014 sign their names to the letter and circulate it fairly widely,\u201d the Times reported, adding, \u201cMultiple drafts were created, and Mr. Cuomo was involved in creating the letter, one of the people said.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Times reports that current aides to Cuomo \u201cemailed at least one draft to a group of former advisers,\u201d and it made its way to both former and current top aides to Cuomo from there. The Times noted:<\/p>\n<blockquote readability=\"10\">\n<p><em>At least one version of the letter included Ms. Boylan\u2019s text exchanges with some of Mr. Cuomo\u2019s senior advisers last year, in an effort to suggest that she was malicious. \u2026 The draft extensively disparaged Ms. Boylan and accused her of using her claims for \u201cpolitical retribution.\u201d The letter pointed out that Ms. Boylan\u2019s campaign consultant also represented a political adversary of the governor\u2019s, and that Ms. Boylan was \u201csupported by lawyers and financial backers of Donald Trump: an active opponent of the governor.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Boylan\u2019s attorney, Jill Basinger, told the Times, \u201cOnce again, a victim of sexual harassment who has the courage to tell her story is put in the position of not only having to relive the trauma of a toxic work environment but defend herself against the malicious leaking of supposed personnel files, character assassinations and a whisper campaign of retaliation.
