He also noted how Trump has &ldquo;outsiders&rdquo; with him this presidency, referring to billionaire <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/elon-musk\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Elon Musk<\/a>, the co-head of the Department of Government Efficiency.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/policy\/healthcare\/3231270\/abortion-foes-hope-gop-governors-spend-political-capital\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>ABORTION FOES SEE HOPE IF THEY CAN GET GOP GOVERNORS TO SPEND POLITICAL CAPITAL<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;He won the primary, he won the nomination, and he won the vote handily of the American people. He&lsquo;s got to come through, right?&rdquo; Sununu said on CNN&rsquo;s <em>State of the Union<\/em>. &ldquo;At this point, it&lsquo;s about delivering. I think this term will be fundamentally different than the first term for a variety of reasons. He&lsquo;s not in his fifth year as president. He&lsquo;s kind of in his ninth, if you will, especially as leader of the party and the voice of the party. And all of that centers around being that disruption. He argued immigration and the Defund the Police movement are where &ldquo;the Democrats have kind of lost it.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Sununu also insisted that Trump has not permanently changed the Republican Party, suggesting the party still has its &ldquo;hardcore regular conservativism,&rdquo; with Trump&rsquo;s brand being &ldquo;a different style to it.&rdquo; He also claimed &ldquo;there&rsquo;s no Trump 2.0 coming up&rdquo; within the party.<\/p>\n<p>The governor did not seek reelection this past November, and will be leaving his position next month. When asked what the future holds for him, Sununu said he would go into the private sector, and advised incoming Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/kelly-ayotte\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Kelly Ayotte<\/a> (R-NH) to &ldquo;focus on New Hampshire.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Sununu previously endorsed former United Nations ambassador Nikki Haley in the 2024 Republican presidential primary race, with Haley suspending her bid for president in March 2024. Ahead of the general election, the governor predicted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/3125412\/running-against-harris-should-be-an-easy-race-if-trump-sticks-to-policies-sununu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Trump could easily win the election against Harris<\/a> if he stuck to policies. He also <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3178595\/sununu-harris-risk-adverse-not-willing-uncomfortable\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">criticized Harris for being &ldquo;risk-averse&rdquo; in her bid for the presidency<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Ahead of Trump&rsquo;s inauguration next month, the <em>Washington Examiner&rsquo;s<\/em> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/3270653\/democrats-have-no-one-to-lead-opposition-to-trump-going-into-2025-byron-york\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Byron York assessed that the Democratic Party lacks a proper figure to oppose Trump and his agenda<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/imagine-thinking-soaring-black-gun-ownership-is-a-bad-thing-pretty-racist-right\/\" title=\"Imagine Thinking \u2018Soaring\u2019 Black Gun Ownership Is A Bad Thing.
