The plane,&nbsp;Jeju Air flight 7C2216, was carrying 175 passengers and six crew members, and was flying from Bangkok, the capital of <a href=\"http:\/\/washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/thailand\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Thailand<\/a>. Two of the passengers were Thai nationals.<\/p>\n<p>Out of 181 total passengers, just two crew members were rescued after hours of search and rescue, and they were located in the tail section of the plane, according to the country&rsquo;s National Fire Agency. Authorities pointed to the plane&rsquo;s tires not being activated, and said a bird collision likely caused the malfunction.<\/p>\n<p>Acting South Korean President Choi Sang-mok has <a href=\"https:\/\/cnn.com\/world\/live-news\/south-korea-plane-crash-12-29-24-intl-hnk\/index.html?t=1735442615926\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"told \">told<\/a> emergency responders to use &ldquo;all available&rdquo; resources to respond to the crash.<\/p>\n<p>Jeju Air is a South Korean low-cost airline, and the plane in the crash was a Boeing 737-800 jet.<\/p>\n<p>Families burst into tears as they heard an announcer at the airport carefully read the names of passengers who were confirmed dead, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcnews.com\/news\/world\/live-blog\/live-updates-plane-crash-south-korea-rcna185676\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">according<\/a> to NBC News. Jeju Air&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.jejuair.net\/ko\/main\/dark\/index.do\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"website \">website <\/a>was replaced with a statement apologizing for the incident.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We, Jeju Air, bow our heads in apology to all those who suffered damages due to the recent Muan Airport accident. First of all, we will do our best to resolve the accident.
