Palm Beach County Fire Rescue responded to the incident, with the three firefighters transported to a local hospital all in stable condition, and the 12 passengers hospitalized with minor injuries.<\/p>\n<p>An investigation into the cause of the collision is underway by the Delray Beach Police Department, Brightline officials, and the National Transportation Safety Board.<\/p>\n<p>Footage and photos <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/tecas2000\/status\/1873057386484650187\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"posted \">posted<\/a> to X show shattered glass in the passenger train cars, a <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">flipped fire truck<\/a> with debris scattered across the tracks, and the front of the Brightline train with severe damage.<\/p>\n<p>Brightline service was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gobrightline.com\/press-room\/2023\/brightline-history-brightline-opens-between-orlando-and-miami\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"launched \">launched <\/a>in South Florida in 2018, connecting cities such as Miami, Fort Lauderdale, and West Palm Beach. (AP)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This is not the first collision involving the high-speed train service. <a href=\"https:\/\/mynews13.com\/fl\/orlando\/news\/2024\/09\/18\/brightline--1-year-of-service-to-orlando--1-year-of-crashes-in-brevard-co\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"According to\">According to<\/a> the Federal Railroad Administration, from September 2023 to June 2024, 34 people were killed by Brightline trains along the 235-mile route.
