Another photo shows Joe Biden introducing his son to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/xi-jinping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"Chinese President Xi Jinping\">Chinese President Xi Jinping<\/a> during the same trip.<\/p>\n<p>Both meetings were previously uncovered through written evidence, including congressional testimony and emails. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/newly-released-photos-allegedly-show-documents-trump-threw-in-toilets\/\" title=\"Newly Released Photos Allegedly Show Documents Trump Threw In Toilets\">newly released photos<\/a> of them, however, underscore how Joe Biden misled the public by initially <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2606309\/five-times-the-hunter-biden-influence-peddling-story-changed\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">asserting<\/a> that he never interacted with his son&rsquo;s business partners and kept an &ldquo;absolute wall&rdquo; between him and them.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Hunter Biden and Joe Biden with executives from BHR Partners, December 2013. (National Archives)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The release of the photos came in response to conservative group America First Legal&rsquo;s expansive Freedom of Information Act <a href=\"https:\/\/aflegal.org\/america-first-legal-obtains-photos-of-joe-biden-meeting-with-hunter-bidens-chinese-business-associates-and-introducing-hunter-to-chinas-president-xi-jinping\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">requests<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>AFL first sued NARA in 2022 to expedite the release of the records, but NARA argued it had limitations on the pace at which it could process the high volume of requests. NARA eventually released the photos in October 2024 as part of a dump of more than 100 images, but a 30-day extension invoked by the White House counsel led to them becoming public after the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"2024 election\">2024 election<\/a>, according to NARA.<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden and other witnesses confirmed the meetings depicted in the photos in congressional testimony this year and in emails obtained by the House Oversight Committee. The first son characterized the encounter with Li as brief and insignificant.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;When we returned from an event to the hotel, there was a rope line, and Jonathan Li was in the lobby of the hotel where I was going to meet him for coffee,&rdquo; Hunter Biden testified. &ldquo;In that line, I introduced my dad to Jonathan Li and a friend of his, and they shook hands and I believe probably took a photograph. And then my father went up to his room, and I went to have coffee with Jonathan Li.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Hunter Biden <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/2812149\/hunter-bidens-lawyer-still-owns-hunter-chinese-business\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">relinquished<\/a> his share of BHR Partners in 2021, but not before the firm <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2021\/11\/20\/world\/hunter-biden-china-cobalt.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">secured<\/a> a successful cobalt investment in a Chinese company that is, according to the <em>New York Times<\/em>, now the world&rsquo;s largest electric vehicle battery maker.<\/p>\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\">Joe Biden greeting BHR Partners Director and Managing Partner&nbsp;Ming Xue as Li (yellow tie) looks on.
