The user, known as Usual-Guava-8899, has been an AT&T customer for over ten years and typically pays around $250 to $266 for unlimited plans. When he saw his bill on December 15 was $6,223.60, he suspected a mistake. However, when he contacted AT&T customer service, the representative claimed the bill was only $205. Seeking clarification, Usual-Guava-8899 visited an AT&T store in Dallas.

The problem arose after he switched to FirstNet—AT&T’s network for first responders—where he was mistakenly placed on a pay-per-use plan for one day and used 3,097 megabytes of data during that time.
