The accident reportedly occurred shortly after 4 p.m. on <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/christmas\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Christmas<\/a> Day.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Seven people were hurt in the crash, including a 9-year-old boy and his 41-year-old mother, according to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kcci.com\/article\/new-york-taxi-jumps-sidewalk-macys-on-christmas-day-injuring-7\/63280319\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">reports<\/a>. Two 49-year-old women, a 19-year-old woman, a 37-year-old woman, and the driver of the taxi, a 58-year-old man, were all injured.<\/p>\n<p>Three people were hospitalized for further evaluation, and the others were treated at the scene after the incident. One gentleman went over shut the car off, got into it shut it off. There was a whole group of us that ripped the fender off, lifted the car back, and then that&rsquo;s when I grabbed the little boy, got him to the corner, realized that what ended up being his mom underneath.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>An official reason for the accident has yet to be provided. However, it is speculated that the cab driver experienced some medical emergency, which caused him to veer off the street and into the crowd.&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The incident occurred at the famous Macy&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/long-list-of-companies-pulled-out-of-russia-this-week\/\" title=\"Long List of Companies Pulled Out of Russia This Week\">flagship store<\/a> on West 34th Street and Sixth Avenue in Manhattan. In addition to its well-known elegant and elaborate decorative Christmas display, the store was also the setting for many scenes in the 1947 holiday classic, <em>Miracle on 34th Street<\/em>.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The incident in New York City comes just days <a target=\"_blank\" href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/crime\/3268085\/what-we-know-about-the-german-christmas-market-attack-that-left-five-dead\/\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">after an attack at a Christmas market<\/a>.
