during the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/2024-elections\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"2024 campaign\">2024 election cycle<\/a>, frequently serving up large blocks of terms and phrases that didn&rsquo;t seem to go anywhere.<\/p>\n<div class=\"article-paywall\">\n<p>Harris had a way with words, or at least a way of speaking them, that often left her audience confused and wondering what exactly she meant to say.<\/p>\n<p>Her aides went to great lengths early in the campaign to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3152965\/harris-skirts-national-press-employs-risk-adverse-media-strategy\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"keep her out\">keep her out<\/a> of unscripted moments and on point, but that couldn&rsquo;t be done for the entirety of the run, leaving us with many tasty morsels remaining on our palates today. <\/p>\n<p>With all of that said, here are Harris&rsquo;s top word salads of her 2024 campaign.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&lsquo;Significance of the passage of time&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>One of Harris&rsquo;s signature phrases, &ldquo;significance of the passage of time,&rdquo; So when you think about it, there is great significance to the passage of time in terms of what we need to do to lay these wires.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Exactly. <\/p>\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">&lsquo;The power of diplomacy&rsquo;<\/h2>\n<p>Just days after President Joe Biden dropped out of the 2024 race, he and Harris appeared together to celebrate the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/white-house\/3107420\/biden-celebrates-diplomacy-russia-evan-gershkovich\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"return\">return<\/a> of Americans who had been detained in Russia.<\/p>\n<p>Harris was asked to elaborate as well and gave the following response.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Vice President Harris: This is an extraordinary day and I&#8217;m very thankful for our president. We&rsquo;ve got some business to do. All right, 32 days. We got 32 days until the election.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;So 32 days&hellip; 32 days&hellip; Okay. For example, when she was asked about an apparent flip-flop on border wall funding, she <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3201750\/david-axelrod-harris-nonanswers-cnn-town-hall-word-salad-city\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"served up a salad\">served up a salad<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;Is a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/arizona-border-mayor-endorses-gallego-for-senate-washington-examiner\/\" title=\"Arizona border mayor endorses Gallego for Senate - Washington Examiner\">border wall stupid<\/a>?&rdquo; the network&rsquo;s Anderson Cooper asked, referencing some of Harris&rsquo;s previous comments on the topic.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-media-max-width=\"560\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Kamala said building a border wall was stupid when Trump wanted to build it. Come on, they didn&rsquo;t!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>What followed was 90 seconds of supremely well-tossed words and phrases. <\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;So you don&rsquo;t think it&rsquo;s stupid anymore?&rdquo; Cooper asked again, trying to divine a core message.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I think what he did, and how he did it, did not make much sense,&rdquo; Harris said. &ldquo;Because he actually didn&rsquo;t do much of anything. I just talked about that wall. Right? We just talked about it. You have the same power that you did before Nov. 5. And you have the same purpose that you did. And you have the same ability to engage and inspire.
