Congressional leaders reached a “bipartisan” agreement to fund the government until March 14 via a continuing resolution; however, this included numerous additions that expanded the bill from just a few pages to approximately 1,500. Typically, when legislation is labeled as “bipartisan,” it suggests that Republicans have conceded while Democrats receive most of their demands. A genuine Republican lawmaker should consistently seek ways to reduce spending and limit federal authority\u2014this continuing resolution did the opposite. Ramaswamy highlighted four particularly absurd provisions added to what was meant to be a straightforward bill maintaining current funding levels until the new GOP Congress takes over next month. The resolution proposed significant salary increases for Congress members and expanded federal healthcare benefits.
