Trump&#8217;s representatives have argued that\u2062 this development is part of an\u200c ongoing political weaponization of the justice system,\u200b especially as he prepares for his inauguration on \u2063January 20, 2025.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<p><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><?xml encoding=\"utf-8\" ?><\/p>\n<section> \t\t\t\t<script>console.log(\"ad slot (AC1)\")<\/script><script>console.log(\"ad slot (IC1)\")<\/script><script>console.log(\"ad slot (IC2)\")<\/script><script>console.log(\"ad slot (IC3)\")<\/script><script>console.log(\"ad slot (IC4)\")<\/script><\/p>\n<p>The lawfare against President-elect Donald Trump continues to crumble.<\/p>\n<p>The latest setback comes in Trump&rsquo;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/watch-deranged-sounding-georgia-grand-jury-foreman-throws-election-case-against-trump-into-legal-jeopardy\/\" title=\"WATCH: Deranged-Sounding Georgia Grand Jury Foreman Throws Election Case Against Trump Into Legal Jeopardy\">election interference case<\/a> in Georgia &mdash; one of the many lawsuits that sought to hamstring the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/mike-kelly-same-people-criticizing-trump-peddled-russia-collusion-hoax\/\" title=\"Mike Kelly: Same People Criticizing Trump Peddled Russia Collusion Hoax\">president-elect<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>And <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/fani-willis-throws-tantrum-jim-jordan-contempt-deadline-arrives\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the woman who brought all that forward<\/a> is at the center of this latest (rather significant) stumble.<\/p>\n<p>Per <a href=\"https:\/\/www.axios.com\/2024\/12\/19\/fani-willis-disqualified-trump-2020-case?\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Axios<\/a>, embattled Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis has been disqualified from Trump 2020 election interference case due to a conflict of interest.<\/p>\n<p>The Georgia Court of Appeals <a href=\"https:\/\/efast.gaappeals.us\/download?filingId=cdec1774-027f-4de6-aaf5-fb6c9bb99270\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">ruled<\/a> Thursday that Willis&rsquo; office would no longer oversee this case.<\/p>\n<p> <script type=\"text\/javascript\"> \t\t\tif ( getCookie( \"ff_subbed\" ) ) { \t\t\t\tdocument.getElementById(\"stnvideo\").remove() \t\t\t} \t\t<\/script> <\/p>\n<p>As far as the conflict of interest at the heart of this disqualification, it involves Willis&rsquo; love life.<\/p>\n<p>The lead prosecutor on Trump&rsquo;s case was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/watch-nathan-wades-cnn-interview-interrupted-pressed-fani-willis-drama-getting-signaled\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Nathan Wade<\/a>, who was in a relationship with Willis, creating an obvious conflict of interest.<\/p>\n<p>Or, at least, obvious to most outside of Willis&rsquo; office.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/chinese-american-group-on-essential-race-concept-racist-repressive-discriminatory\/\" title=\"Chinese-American Group On Essential Race Concept: \u2018Racist, Repressive, Discriminatory\u2019\">appeals court ruled<\/a> that the relationship created a &ldquo;significant appearance of impropriety,&rdquo; according to <a href=\"https:\/\/thehill.com\/regulation\/court-battles\/5048455-fani-willis-disqualified-trump-georgia\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">The Hill<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;After carefully considering the trial court&rsquo;s findings in its order, we conclude that it erred by failing to disqualify DA Willis and her office,&rdquo; Judge E. Trenton Brown III explained in the ruling.<\/p>\n<p>He added: &ldquo;The remedy crafted by the trial court to prevent an ongoing appearance of impropriety did nothing to address the appearance of impropriety that existed at times when DA Willis was exercising her <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">broad pretrial discretion<\/a> about who to prosecute and what charges to bring.&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Of note, while Willis has been disqualified, the court has yet to throw the case out.<\/p>\n<p>In theory, that means another prosecutor could pick up the case, but given the resounding results of Nov. 5, that would come with quite a bit of risk and baggage for any legal office.<\/p>\n<p>(To say nothing of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/biden-cant-deny-responsibility-for-our-so-so-divided-nation\/\" title=\"Biden Can\u2019t Deny Responsibility For Our \u2018So, So Divided\u2019 Nation\">president-elect&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s forthcoming presidential immunity.)<\/p>\n<p>This last case just won&rsquo;t have Willis attached to it anymore.<\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2024\/12\/19\/us\/fani-willis-georgia-trump-case.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">New York Times<\/a> reported that it was a 2-1 decision that ultimately overturned a trial judge&rsquo;s March ruling that originally allowed Willis to stay on the case.
