Nancy Mace, a Republican from South Carolina, that Trump was found civilly liable for raping journalist and author <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/accuser-e-jean-carroll-serious-concerns-trump-even-ruling-forcing-pay-83-million\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">E. Jean Carroll<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>But a federal jury said he was liable for sexual abuse, not rape.<\/p>\n<p>Stephanopoulos doubled down on his statements in remarks made to late night host Stephen Colbert, contending that the judge made comments in the case, which allowed for such a characterization.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;I&rsquo;m not going to be cowed out of doing my job because of the threat,&rdquo; Stephanopoulos told Colbert in reference to the Trump lawsuit, per the Journal.<\/p>\n<p>Trump announced after the settlement that he would <a href=\"https:\/\/www.westernjournal.com\/trump-launch-lawsuit-pollster-behind-famously-incorrect-poll-opinion-fraud\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">file more lawsuits<\/a> against other media outlets.<\/p>\n<p>One complaint against the Des Moines Register centers on a poll from the outlet conducted by J.
