Teh musical, which envisions an alternate ending for Juliet from &#8220;Romeo \u200cand Juliet,&#8221; has earned \u200dnine Tony Award \u2064nominations. Jackson&#8217;s participation was linked to a\u200b bold claim she made in her Harvard application essay about aspiring to be the first Black female\u200d Supreme \u200dCourt\u2062 justice to perform on \u2063stage, a goal\u2064 she has now\u2064 achieved.<\/p>\n<p>While Jackson is recognized for being a highly vocal justice, she has yet to significantly influence the court wiht her decisions\u2062 and has been criticized for\u200b her past remarks regarding gender identity. Additionally,\u200d her judicial \u2062philosophy has been characterized \u2063as \u2063outcome-oriented, aligning with progressive \u200bcauses, including \u2064abortion rights and criticisms of the\u200d First amendment&#8217;s limitations \u200bon government speech regulation.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the criticisms,Jackson&#8217;s Broadway debut received excited support from liberal\u200b audiences,starkly contrasting with the threats faced by her more conservative colleagues. \u200cThe article concludes\u2062 by referencing past incidents where political figures have incited violence against certain justices, highlighting the tense atmosphere \u200csurrounding the Supreme Court.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"readmore\">\n    <button onclick=\"showReadMore()\" id=\"readmorebtn\">Read more&#8230;<\/button>\n<\/p>\n<hr id=\"line\">\n<span id=\"more\"><\/p>\n<div>\n<p>Critics are making fun of Associate Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson for her &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/DailyCaller\/status\/1868689587687784496\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">cringe<\/a>&rdquo; special appearance on Saturday in a bit part of a <a href=\"https:\/\/playbill.com\/article\/watch-supreme-court-justice-ketanji-brown-jackson-make-broadway-debut-in-juliet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">queer-themed Broadway musical<\/a>. The popular show, which imagines what would have happened if Juliet had not killed herself over Romeo, has been nominated for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.tonyawards.com\/shows\/juliet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">nine<\/a> Tony awards.<\/p>\n<p>In promotional material for the appearance, Jackson highlighted a <a href=\"https:\/\/playbill.com\/article\/watch-supreme-court-justice-ketanji-brown-jackson-make-broadway-debut-in-juliet\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">curious and confusing claim<\/a> from a &ldquo;supplemental&rdquo; application essay to Harvard University that she wanted to attend there in order &ldquo;to fulfill my fantasy of becoming the first Black, female Supreme Court justice to appear on a Broadway stage.&rdquo; No matter how outlandish the claim is, she accomplished her mission of being a Supreme Court justice and appearing on Broadway.<\/p>\n<p>Jackson, known for being <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2022\/10\/15\/kentaji-brown-jackson-talkative\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">far and away the most loquacious<\/a> justice during oral arguments, has only been on the court for two terms and has not yet made much of a mark with her rulings or dissents. During her confirmation proceedings, Jackson claimed she didn&rsquo;t know what a woman was because she was not a &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2022\/03\/23\/judge-nominated-to-supreme-court-on-the-basis-of-her-sex-cant-define-woman\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">biologist<\/a>.&rdquo; Known for her outcome-based jurisprudence in support of abortion on demand, she also strongly <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/06\/29\/ketanji-brown-jacksons-dissent-is-an-argument-for-institutional-racism\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">supports institutional racism<\/a>. She complains that the <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/20\/justice-jacksons-comment-about-free-speech-hamstringing-the-government-wasnt-her-worst\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">First Amendment<\/a> is &ldquo;<a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2024\/03\/18\/justice-jackson-complains-first-amendment-is-hamstringing-feds-censorship-efforts\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">hamstringing<\/a>&rdquo; the government&rsquo;s censorship efforts.<\/p>\n<p>Still, it&rsquo;s nice that Jackson can appear on Broadway to rapturous applause from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/most-left-wing-journalists-say-conservative-media-doesnt-deserve-equal-coverage\/\" title=\"Most Left-Wing Journalists Say Conservative Media Doesn&#039;t Deserve Equal Coverage\">left-wing audiences<\/a>. It&rsquo;s a notable contrast to her conservative colleagues on the court, who remain under constant threats to their physical safety from <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/kamala-harris-condemns-d-c-demonstrators-despite-past-encouragement-of-violent-blm-mobs\/\" title=\"Kamala Harris condemns D.C. demonstrators despite past encouragement of violent BLM mobs\">left-wing activists<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer famously took to the steps of the Supreme Court itself to <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2020\/03\/06\/stop-blaming-kavanaugh-for-schumers-scotus-threats\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">threaten violence<\/a> against Justices Neil Gorsuch and Brett Kavanaugh if they didn&rsquo;t rule on a case the way he wanted to. During the Kavanaugh confirmation hearings, mobs took over Capitol rooms and buildings and pounded on the doors to the Supreme Court shouting, &ldquo;Burn it to the ground!&rdquo;<\/p>\n<p>Prior to the release of the <em>Dobbs<\/em> decision, which returned abortion law to the people and their legislatures, an anonymous affiliate of the court leaked the decision, creating an incentive for assassination. Had any of the justices who signed onto the decision been killed before it was officially released, it would have prevented the overturning of <em>Roe v. Wade<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Left-wing activist groups posted the private addresses of justices&rsquo; homes and offered financial incentives for sightings of the justices in public. If the information were given to the mobs in time for them to show up and harass the justice, the financial incentive quadrupled. Although <a href=\"https:\/\/www.law.cornell.edu\/uscode\/text\/18\/1507\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3YuVZYV\">federal law prohibits demonstrating<\/a><\/a> in front of a justice&rsquo;s home in order to influence a decision, President Biden and his Attorney General Merrick Garland gave the protests a green light and claimed there was nothing they could do.<\/p>\n<p>Some justices had to wear bulletproof vests to protect themselves from assassination attempts by left-wing activists. One such attempted assassin used the information posted online by pro-abortion activists to fly across the country and locate the home where Kavanaugh lives with his wife and children. He was <a href=\"https:\/\/news.bloomberglaw.com\/us-law-week\/man-charged-with-trying-to-kill-brett-kavanaugh-going-to-trial\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">stopped before he could kill<\/a> the Kavanaugh family.<\/p>\n<p>In September, an Alaska man with a history of political donations to Democrat causes was arrested for <a href=\"https:\/\/www.justice.gov\/opa\/pr\/alaska-man-arrested-threatening-us-supreme-court-justices-their-family-members\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">threatening six Supreme Court justices<\/a>. Six justices on the court were nominated by a Republican president.<\/p>\n<p>Elite law schools roll out the red carpet for left-wing justices, while those nominated by Republican presidents are either not invited or have to be quietly brought in to speak in private environments or eat their meals off campus so as not to be mobbed by the left-wing activists that dominate law schools. Notre Dame Law School is the rare exception to this, having <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/2024\/11\/28\/supreme-court-notre-dame-kavanaugh-barrett-clerks\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">made news<\/a> by inviting both Democrat-nominated and Republican-nominated justices. Federal judges who fail to adopt the radical political views of these students find themselves <a href=\"https:\/\/thefederalist.com\/2023\/03\/15\/alumna-stanford-law-hasnt-fixed-its-damaged-free-speech-reputation-yet\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">attacked<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>All of which to say, again, it is very nice that Jackson gets to fulfill her dream and appear on Broadway. Conservative justices might like to fulfill much smaller dreams &mdash; such as going for a walk with their children, or out to dinner with their spouse, or to the grocery store alone to pick up some food &mdash; without facing mobs of activists who seek their harm.<\/p>\n<hr>\n<div>\n<p>      Mollie Ziegler Hemingway is the Editor-in-Chief of The Federalist.
