The firm said she will not be commenting on the case at this time.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3223892\/president-elect-donald-trump-cabinet-picks-list\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>TRUMP CABINET PICKS: WHO&rsquo;S BEEN TAPPED TO SERVE IN THE PRESIDENT-ELECT&rsquo;S ADMINISTRATION<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mangione was arrested Monday after a customer at a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/apnews.com\/article\/luigi-mangione-unitedhealthcare-ceo-reward-money-tips-c17b08531049edb381b954e6b876cfda\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">McDonald&rsquo;s in Altoona, Pennsylvania<\/a>, saw him eating breakfast and noticed a resemblance to the person being sought by police in the Dec. 4 killing of Brian Thompson in Manhattan.<\/p>\n<p>Police say Mangione was found with a gun, mask and writings linking him to the ambush outside the New York Hilton Midtown, where Thompson was arriving for his company&rsquo;s annual investor conference.<\/p>\n<p>Mangione, 26, remained jailed without bail Saturday in Pennsylvania, where he was initially charged with gun and forgery offenses. Altoona is about 230 miles (about 370 kilometers) west of New York City.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/news\/campaigns\/presidential\/3220465\/what-trump-promised-day-one-white-house\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"><strong>WHAT TRUMP HAS PROMISED TO DO ON DAY 1 IN THE OVAL OFFICE<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mangione&rsquo;s lawyer there, Thomas Dickey, has cautioned against prejudging the case and said that his client would contest his extradition to New York.<\/p>\n<p>But Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg said Friday that there were indications Mangione may now give up on that fight.<\/p>\n<p>&ldquo;We going to continue to press forward on parallel paths, and we&rsquo;ll be ready whether he is going to waive extradition or whether he is going to contest extradition,&rdquo; Bragg said at an unrelated press conference in Times Square.<\/p>\n<p>Hours after Mangione&rsquo;s arrest on Monday, Bragg&rsquo;s office filed paperwork charging him with five counts, including intentional murder, criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a forged instrument.<\/p>\n<p>New York Gov. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/tag\/Kathy-Hochul\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\">Kathy Hochul<\/a> has said she&rsquo;s prepared to ask her Pennsylvania counterpart, Gov. Josh Shapiro, to intervene and issue a governor&rsquo;s warrant requiring Mangione&rsquo;s extradition if he does not agree to be moved voluntarily.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonexaminer.com\/?d\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" title=\"\"> <\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Mangione&rsquo;s new lawyer, Friedman Agnifilo, was the Chief Assistant District Attorney from 2014 to 2021 and was <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/sam-bankman-fried-visited-biden-white-house-four-times-ahead-of-his-arrest\/\" title=\"Sam Bankman-Fried visited the Biden White House four times before his arrest\">previously chief<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.conservativenewsdaily.net\/breaking-news\/zuckbucks-guides-election-offices-on-managing-bidens-departure\/\" title=\"Zuckbucks&#039; Guides Election Offices on Managing Biden&#039;s Departure\">office&#038;rsquo<\/a>;s trial division.
